19.01.2022 Did you know? Some changes have been made to patient eligibility for telehealth rebates. The Government has stipulated that as of Monday 20 July, Medicare rebates for telehealth are only available if patients have been seen at the practice face to face at least once in the preceding 12 months.... To ensure our patients have a variety of options when choosing how to best access health care we will continue to offer both telehealth and face to face consultations. Medicare rebates are available for eligible patient appointments. If you are unsure about your eligibility for a rebate please phone our reception team to book. If you have not been in in the past year you may still book a private telehealth appointment for your convenience (no rebate). You may elect to come and see us in person this will make you eligible for telehealth for the next year. Do not attend the clinic if you have a flu like illness - please call ahead to discuss your options if you develop symptoms prior to your appointment. Please note that the COVID19 situation is rapidly changing and we need to respond in turn. Should the situation in NSW escalate we will need to revert back to telehealth across the board for all new appointments. Now might be a good time to come in for that check up!

We still have flu vaccines in stock and can arrange an appointment at a time that works for you. We were fortunate not to see too much flu early winter due to the COVID lock downs. 06.01.2022 We are seeing an increasing number of rhinovirus (the common cold) at RTH. We are advising anyone with symptoms gets a covid swab. We recognize the inconvenience to individuals and families but it is very important to: 1. Get a COVID swab (even though it is more likey a cold) 2. Stay at home until symptoms resolve so you do not pass on your cold to others and cause the same inconvenience. 06.01.2022 Telehealth is the new black! In the interest of reducing the spread of COVID-19 we are moving to telehealth appointments effective immediately. As of 23 March 2020 all new appointments will be telephone/telehealth appointments. Your GP will call you to discuss your needs and conduct the "talking" part of the consultation. These appointments can be booked online or by calling our reception team.... When it is necessary for you to be seen in person your GP will arrange a time for you to come in for review. We will have strict measures in place to limit any potential exposures - please observe the signs and listen to any instructions you may be given by reception about where to wait. Some patients will be eligible for the new temporary bulk billed medicare item number for the telehealth consult. Those who are not eligible will only be charged a discounted fee that is similar to the gap fee on a normal consultation. If you are required to come in after your telehelath consult - you will not be charged twice for the consult (fees may still apply for any private vaccines, consumables etc). We will continue to do all we can to look after you at this very challenging time.

Most of our patients prefer telephone over video as it is does not require specific technology. RTH will continue to offer telephone consults to our patients into the future.
