21.01.2022 No nurse or midwife goes to work expecting to be assaulted, yet the reality is that health workers face violence every day in their line of duty. This is simply... not good enough. We're continuing our campaign against workplace violence, and calling on the NSW Government to ensure adequate safety measures and security staff are in place to keep nurses and midwives safe. 20.01.2022 WE'VE WON the SafeWork NSW Award for "Outstanding work health and safety support to members in the changed working environment due to COVID-19"! It's exceptional recognition of the work and effort that both Association members and staff have undertaken through this pandemic. It's clear that together, we can win safer workplaces for all nurses and midwives. If you've got a safety issue at work, make sure you get in contact with us ASAP: https://www.nswnma.asn.au/about-us/contact/
18.01.2022 For a nurse on $75,000, the Berejiklian Government's wage freeze means an increase of ONLY $5 per week. It's barely enough to cover a coffee! In the Year of the Nurse and Midwife, it's just a slap in the face of every health worker.
16.01.2022 Through COVID-19, your NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association has been busy delivering accurate, up to date information for our members across the state, in all sectors.
16.01.2022 YOUR UNION HAS BEEN KICKING GOALS! Check out what we've been up to over the 2019-2020 financial year.
15.01.2022 In case you thought Gladys Berejiklian and Dom Perrottet MP couldn’t be more cruel, they’re now proposing to EXTEND THE WAGE FREEZE by decreasing the wages cap.... It’s another incredible kick in the guts against nurses and midwives, and will put health workers on track for poverty wages that don’t keep up with inflation.
11.01.2022 Today's outcome is a MASSIVE INSULT for every nurse and midwife in New South Wales. It's proof that the Berejiklian Government doesn't value your work, your profession and your communities. It's a disgraceful outcome, and we won't be taking it lying down.
09.01.2022 Have the recent bus route changes that have been in effect since 25 Oct effected your commute to/from RPA? If so the NSWNMA wants to hear from you! Please respond here & we;ll be in touch.
08.01.2022 "You hope you never have to use it, but it's always there behind you to back you up". Nurse Chris was involved in a motorcycle accident on the way to work, and had to have his leg amputated. Thankfully, he was an NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association member, and thanks to our Journey Accident Insurance, he was able to recoup $100,000 to assist with his recovery. It's so important to be a member of your association You can join here today: https://www.nswnma.asn.au/nswnmamembers/benefits/
05.01.2022 Through COVID-19, your @NSW Nurses and Midwives' Association has been in overdrive to deliver for members.
05.01.2022 Nurses and midwives have seen the worst of violence and PPE issues this past year. We'll continue to work hard to ensure your safety - both in and outside of work.
03.01.2022 This wage freeze is an insult to every nurse and midwife in our state. We will continue our fight for fair wages and safe staffing. Via 7NEWS Sydney
