20.01.2022 A mini-series from one of our most early adopters Kristian Spencer. Kristian has been a massive supporter of the RPELA from the very start back when it was the Surfsafe model. Kristian is a born and bred Esperance local, taking on the South Coast for everything its got - including Surfing, Fishing and Abalone Diving. Now a retired commercial fisherman, Kristian is a recreational ocean user, continuing to dive, fish and surf on a regular basis. The photos included speak for... themself - Kristian kills it. Full Review from Kristian: I have not had any encounters (that I am aware of) with sharks since using RPELA or the original Surfsafe. Through continual correspondence with Dave and hearing trial results the RPELA does give me confidence to surf locations I feel are too sharky to surf without a personal deterrent. I have had 8 interactions with whites surfing, diving and fishing. They are real in Esperance and Im not comfortable hoping I wont see one. Because I will. RPELA is also a far superior product for the surfer - fitting flush into the bottom of the board without crude stickers and bulky tail pads that continue to fail for my peers. The removable unit does require a little contact cleaner at times for charging, but this results in easy and fast charging between surfs. The car charger is a must if you do big hours in the water as the new unit wont last all day. I almost always #surf solo and at first light on open #beaches without people so Im very aware of the #ocean when Im in it. #RPELA is an essential part of my surfing gear. Its easy to use, doesnt interfere with your surfing and gives you peace of mind that if there is a #shark cruising by he will give you a wide berth. #Dolphins dont seem to be fussed by it at all I also use a #camouflage #design on the bottom of my board so I blend in better with the ocean around me.
