25.01.2022 Our beautiful mares, such good cover girls for Mc Dowells Laminitis products. It was a cool photo shoot out in the paddock with them, they always believe people come bearing gifts!
25.01.2022 At the heart of my priorities is the mental & physical well being of horses, even well before I commence training.
25.01.2022 My beautiful Mozzimo, a cover boy again
25.01.2022 Check out the Equitana Australia post....that is me with Monnie! We had lots of fun preparing for our Melanoma articles/photos. I have used Mc Dowells products since first meeting Cath in 2009 sharing our passion for Classical training and Herbal products There will be four media releases, a different topic each week I hope you enjoy our official step onto this platform and looking forward to a successful Equitana in July 2021 for everyone involved across all disciplines
24.01.2022 I love this. I concentrate on teaching mostly but do have the occasional horse for sale. I know where nearly all our horses went/are for many years after sale if not for life.
24.01.2022 An articulated compilation pin-pointing the demise of structually sound performance horses. Very good explanations accompany, give 8 minutes of your time to further your education
22.01.2022 Just before the rain, & it hasn’t drawn breath much at all. Glorious Spring rain

21.01.2022 Dentist day for Monnie & Dusty. Thankyou Paul Owens Horsevetdentist for immaculate care of our horses, especially young Dusty at a crucial time of erupting mola...rs, and the removal of three wolf teeth, yes one on the bottom too which would have been the most problematic if it remained there (previously missed by another dentist in January). Horses on average will have these teeth by the age of 9 months. Paul is back at Rimini Park in July. To be put on the waiting list please comment or pm me. Pauls work is second to none, and it is a small investment each year to be 100% sure your horses teeth and mouth are healthy. Thanks Katrina for baking a delicious cake & being very welcoming to your lovely property See more
21.01.2022 We value our clients and will continue to support you where possible. Please see the post regarding our continued operation :-)
21.01.2022 Julica Valentiner had us do some fun things like wear glasses that blocked out a lot my vision so that my seat was actively guiding him more. Also riding one handed with the glasses to open up the area just above the right hip that I was keeping a bit tight. When he was loose he wandered to the farthest end of the arena for a lovely roll in the sand. I love working with this boy more every week :-)
18.01.2022 ** free lessons in Ecole de Legerete** I am requiring a demonstration/guinea pig rider at 2pm on Nov 28th and 29th. As a part of the examination preparation fo...r the Trainee Teachers they are required to give a lesson under the watchful eye of Melanie Bulmahn and receive feedback. You do not have to have had lessons in this French Classical method before in order to attend. Nor do you have to be a high level rider, any level is accepted but it is a riding lesson so having paces established would be of benefit. This is a wonderful teaching opportunity for riders and horses. The lesson is of one hour duration and you will benefit with a well structured lesson based on theory, observation and practical application of Classical Dressage. You are also able to spectate at no cost, normally $50, for the day that you attend. Pm me for more details or leave a comment below.
18.01.2022 Sajonaro and I receiving some nice inhand tips from John Saint Ryan at a recent clinic. lHe tended to push into pressure instead of yielding and this varied depending on where I held the bridle and placed myself. Although he had enormous input of energy from the group of 12 he was superbly well behaved and we developed some ground rules around responsible behaviours for young stallions. John has a very calm and respectful manner, I listened very carefully to his information he so freely gave and adapted to every different horse. I couldnt have been happier with Sunnys behaviour in the group where he felt safe and excited at the same time! :-)

07.01.2022 Check out these super-easy to use & highly palatable products for horses with Melanoma. Heres Monnie & I using this program
07.01.2022 A true Classical Master held in the highest esteem around the world for his championing of respectful training methods for all breeds and levels of horses. I feel very lucky to have had several lessons with Monsieur Karl with a two of my horses. The training programs all follow the principles of riding with lightness but one program is never the same for each horse, the mark of flexibility and intelligent training. I will be very happy when international borders reopen and travel to Australia is possible for the Master Teachers of Ecole de Legerete so I can resume lessons.
06.01.2022 This is a wonderful collaboration involving my lovely horses and a truly supportive and passionate company in Mc Dowells. Four weeks showcasing health and products, plenty of information and endless resources
06.01.2022 My very beautiful and appropriately named Bella. Photo with her dam Pyper obviously telling her off for something, and a photo of her son my gorgeous stallion Spook . Glamorous runs in this family for sure! Bella is going to be started under saddle this Spring! I cant wait, that will be 3 generations I have ridden

05.01.2022 Absolutely amazing
05.01.2022 I have never seen my boy in piaffe with another rider, he really is very special! Better breed some more! Lovely riding Dakota
05.01.2022 Love our gentle boys
05.01.2022 Spooks of Rimini Fifth generation breeding wrapped in the prettiest packaging & sweetest mind. I love this young boy, I bred, trained and competed his grand-dam Pyper (by one of my favourite stallions Just de Pomme aka Apples) He will remain a stallion, he rides like silk feels and falls asleep when I tend to his flowing mane and tail Watch this space to follow his training, every horse Ive ever ridden influences my time spent with him, as it does for my other riding horses
04.01.2022 Shared earlier and worth sharing again. It would be good to do a comparison on another horse with a different physique and style.

03.01.2022 I do from time to time take outside horses for training but I no longer start a horse (breaking in) from scratch Jet came with some quirkiness and those dissipated and he responded very well..
02.01.2022 https://youtu.be/e1bZy5seq_o The next young stallion to join my team of riding horses, Spooks is by our Lord Callum imp. out of a mare of Just de Pomme imp. x Bellario imp. International champion Warmblood lines.

01.01.2022 https://youtu.be/QVpO6zNgsnU A relaxed day today doing some sensory work with Sunny. Honestly he is such a dag at times. And finally we have a trot neck extension with contact, open gullet & rhythm. This beautiful stallion has found his inner balance after 12 months in reasonably consistent work ... The milestones keep being reached & acknowledged, almost weekly now. Patience and diligence paying off! See more
01.01.2022 TOP TEN TIPS FOR FITNESS & SOUNDNESS WHEN BRINGING HORSES BACK INTO WORK AFTER A WINTER BREAK Following on from yesterdays post on the pros and cons of roadwor...k, which had a few people foaming at the mouth :), here are my top ten tips for bringing horses back into work to get them fit and keep them sound. 1) Limit the amount of trotting on roads to 5-10 minutes a day 2) Walk as much as you want on roads 3) Use a variety of surfaces - road, arena, tracks, all-weather; 4) 3-4 sessions per week is sufficient for increasing fitness 5) Space sessions as equally as possible (working only on Sat and Sun does little to increase fitness) 6) Increase work gradually. One of the biggest risks for lameness is a sudden increase in work e.g. from 30 minutes walk and trot to cantering uphill on a soft surface! 7) Increase the workload approximately every 2 weeks - with regular exercise 3-4 times a week this is how long it takes the body to adapt 8) Use a combination of ridden and lunging exercise (even treadmill and or swimming if you have it), especially in the first few months of training when your horses back is not as used to carrying weight! 9) Try to avoid uneven or very deep surfaces or surfaces that change dramatically from hard to soft, even to uneven 10) Boots and bandages protect - they dont support. Dont overtighten as this will do more harm than good
