22.01.2022 Day 2. We’re off to Lightning Ridge. Lots of dirt road today but we have a lay-over day tomorrow to explore the area.
21.01.2022 To our valued customers, We are trading as normal at this stage and will continue to do so for as long as we are able to within the guidelines of the Government, the Health Department and the VACC. During this time we will do our utmost to ensure that all our staff are in good health and are vigilant in our hygiene practices, for eg. treating keys on handover, wearing gloves and sanitising contact areas within customer cars. Our office and workshop are also being sanitised on... a regular basis. We understand that you rely on your vehicles and that is why we are doing our very best to not only keep your health and well being forefront but also the safety of your family and others on our roads. Please be assured that we are being extremely proactive and will continue to do so for as long as necessary. If any changes may occur, we will inform you as soon as we possibly can. If you yourself are not well or have been in contact with someone who is unwell, please don't hesitate in contacting us so other arrangements can be made. We thank you for your patience at this time. Ralph Peet.
21.01.2022 Today is Superhero day! We are heading off to Nundle over the mountains.
20.01.2022 Let the rally begin!!!
19.01.2022 We have made it to West Wyalong, our first meeting point for the Rally. It has been a great run apart from a couple of road works and some unusual traffic on the road!
19.01.2022 DAY 3 Sees our Redneckers Off to Carrathool on this glorious rainy St Pat's day Carrathool was once a bustling country town of several hundred people, surrou...nded by large merino properties and with a railhead serving an enormous area. The village of Carrathool was originally located on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. During the 1850s Carrathool was one of the earliest river port towns established along the river to serve paddle steamer traffic on the river. In 1882, with the arrival of the railway, a new village was established two miles north of the river. Carrathool was proclaimed on 20 March 1885, and became the railhead for an extensive area. Enormous quantities of wool, wheat, timber and livestock were shipped on rail there. Take a drive over the historic Carrathool Bridge, one of the last lifting bridges remaining in Australia. Built to replace the punt. The heritage-listed bascule lift span bridge was completed in 1922 and the lift span last opened for river traffic in the 1930s. Learn more of Carrathool's pastoral history by following the heritage markers around the village. Visitors to Carrathool can make use of the local park, or stop for a cold drink at the Family Hotel. Pinker's Beach on the Murrumbidgee River is an attractive sandy beach perfect for picnics and rest stops, or to throw a line in for a spot of fishing. The highlight of the district calendar is the Carrathool Races, held annually in February. This race meet, also known as "The Best of the Bough Shed Tracks", attracts up to 2000 race goers annually, and has been running for over one hundred and twenty five years. DID YOU KNOW? Carrathool is home to the historic sheep grazing property Uardry, whose ram once featured on the one shilling piece!! #RRR2021 #happystpaddysday #riverinaredneckrally #doingitforthekids #nymagee #Carrathool #countryHope
17.01.2022 After rearranging the workshop we were able to put some paint down yesterday! We had a special young apprentice helper (thanks to my son Aidan) Amazing how much a coat of paint brightens the workshop! A couple of days to dry (using a heater because of Melbourne’s weather) and put everything back in place on Monday! Thanks for your patience in bookings as we lost a couple of work days doing this!

12.01.2022 Day 4. No? Already? How’s an evening by the mighty Murray River sound? For our 2021 Riverina Redneck Rally teams this how they’ll enjoy their Thirsty Thursday ...- today they’re off the Euston!! Our intrepid Redneckers will pass through the fabulous lil town of Hay, Heritage Listed Mungo National Park and loads of beautiful, scenic country today!!! Situated between Mildura and Swan Hill in south-western New South Wales, Euston and Robinvale are nestled on opposite banks of one of the most user-friendly stretches of the Murray River. So, our Redneckers will be treating themselves to a soul-satisfying journey to this beautiful and pristine part of Australia. Euston is gateway to Balranald, Yanga National Park, World Heritage Willandra Lakes and Mungo Natonal Park and the outback. Sitting at the heart of Euston is the popular Euston Club and Resort right on the banks of the Murray River. Looks like a sweet spot for a frothy... Lock 15 (Murray locks and weirs) on the Murray River is just downstream of Euston and provides a pool of irrigation water and ensuring that the river near Robinvale Euston is permanently available for water activities. The weir and lock were completed in 1937, the last one built on the Murray River system. Visit the Old Euston Courthouse which contains photographs and memorabilia of the district plus a small one-room museum dedicated to the Bush Nursing Service. Open 1pm to 5pm on the first Sunday of the month or by request. The Courthouse at Euston has been home to the Euston-Robinvale Historical Society since 1981 when the Society was founded. The aim of the members is to house and preserve written and photographic material relating to the history of the two towns and their surrounds. Whilst in Euston, take a stroll through the township and view the six plaques that have been erected on sites of historical significance. Each plaque is accompanied by photo and text describing a time and place in the history of Euston. The plaques are located at the following places around Euston: at Euston Court House, opposite the Royal Hotel, at Euston Public School, on the road outside the Euston Club, with two plaques along the Murray River’s edge at the car park near the River at the bottom of the Club. There is a great riverfront walk that stretches from Lock 15 to Robinvale taking in some of the regions diverse landscapes. #RRR2021 #riverinaredneckrally #doingitforthekids #worldheritagesite #educationday #CountryHope #nosecondhandmowerstoday #euston #Carrathool
10.01.2022 Merry Christmas!
08.01.2022 And they’re off! Today’s trip sees our Rednecks heading to Nymagee! Nymagee was originally a copper mining town and in its peak supported a population of over... 2200. However, when the mine closed in 1917 most of the towns residents moved out. By 1949, the inhabitants were thinking of Nymagee as a 'ghost town', even though it still possessed a hall, racecourse and social and sports clubs. In 1999 local residents started an outback music festival to increase tourism and residents in the town. The first festival was visited by 600 tourists and the festival has since increased Nymagee's tourism by 60% and significantly increased the number of permanent residents - now a healthy 100. Nymagee is also home to "Clancy of the Overflow" a poem written by the famous bush poet Banjo Paterson. The sheep station, "The Overflow" featured in the poem is situated about 32 kilometres south east of Nymagee. Today our teams will travel a total of 485kms with 300 kms being on unsealed roads. Site seeing will include Bathurst and a meander around Mt Panorama , Molong and Parkes. #RRR2021 #riverinaredneckrally #Rockley #nymagee #day2 #doingitforthekids #CountryHope #itsstillnotarace
06.01.2022 With the rate our sponsers are signing on, we’re going to need a billboard to show them all off. Thanks Ralph Peet and his team at RPM Wandin for signing on aga...in this season. Ralph is a ripping bloke and wicket keeper who’s a premiership player with us. He sat last season out as a player to focus on family and a charity event he was heavily involved with. He has a high standard of morals trust honesty and hard work among others. which are values he carries in life as well as buisness. So if your looking for a good quality local honest mechanic give Ralph and the team a call. There located behind Land mark in Wandin. Thanks Ralph. We can’t do what we do with out our sponsers so thanks from all at the kennel.
