19.01.2022 YEAR 12 FINAL ASSEMBLY - This morning we celebrated our Year 12's at their final ever school assembly. There were various performances including African dances, Cook Islander dances as well as a K-pop dance. Our current Year 12 Captains also handed over to our 2021 School Captains. 18.01.2022 FLICK THE SWITCH BE THE VOICE FOR YOUR CITY - Ipswich City Council in partnership with Ipswich Youth Advisory Council is hosting Flick the ‘Switch on Friday 30th October 2020. The event will involve a series of youth-led discussion panels on topics set by Ipswich young people: 1pm- mental health and wellbeing (onsite at school) 2pm- Ipswich diversity and acceptance (onsite at school) 5pm- employment and transitions to independence (to be held at the Redbank Plains Community... Centre) Year 10 and 11 REAL Council students along with other interested students from these year level will be able to be part of a ‘Watch Party’. As per the flyer, students can log onto the website and send through questions for the expert panel to answer at the above times or they can upload a short recording. Questions can be emailed to Mrs Walker at [email protected] or Mrs Bowd at [email protected] If students wish to have a short video recorded, students may see Mrs Koorneef in the Staff Centre. Mr Kelk will be setting up the ‘Watch Party’ and interested students need to inform him if they wish to be involved.

12.01.2022 BREAKING THE CYCLE- Congratulations to Patrick our first Grade 11 student to commence his FREE driving lessons here at RPSHS. VOLUNTEER DRIVER MENTORS NEEDED - Would you like to support young people to learn to drive? Can you spare an hour or more a week? If so, we’d love you to join our team of over 400 volunteer driver mentors. You will need to hold an open license (min 12 months) and have or be willing to obtain a Blue Card (we can help you with this). Student participation is assessed by a driving school to ensure competency and vehicles and comprehensive training is provided for mentors.
12.01.2022 Our partners at Queensland Ambulance Service are setting up a COVID testing clinic at Westminster Warriors Soccer Club, off Moreton Rd at Redbank Plains from 4p...m to 6pm today. Anyone with symptoms in the Redbank, Redbank Plains or Goodna area is invited to go down to the club and get tested. The QAS clinic will open again from 8am to 5pm tomorrow. No appointment is needed but please take your Medicare card if you have one. The West Moreton Health clinic at the Salvation Army Hall at Coal St Bundamba is open to the public tomorrow from 9am to 4.30pm, and people are invited to attend if they have any of the following symptoms: sore throat, fever (or night sweats or chills), runny nose, loss of taste or smell, diarrhoea, cough, shortness of breath or fatigue. 07.01.2022 MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL - Dear Parents and Caregivers, I am writing to inform you of an incident which occurred at school today.... As you may be aware, Redbank Plains State High School was placed in lockdown for a short period while the Queensland Police Service attended the school in response to a trespasser on the school oval. Staff and students followed long established procedures and there was no harm to any member of the school community. I acknowledge there may be more questions from parents in relation to this incident but please understand that I am unable to provide further information as the police are investigating the matter. To the best of my knowledge there will be no ongoing issues relating to the events today. I want to assure you that we make the safety and welfare of your children and our staff our highest priority. 05.01.2022 SEEKING EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST - TEACHER AIDE MANUAL ARTS- Redbank Plains State High School is currently seeking expressions of interest for a Manual Arts Teacher Aide for 16 hours per week from the 27/1/2021 to 26/3/2021. Manual Arts Teacher Aides provide assistance and support to the Manual Arts teachers by setting up equipment / tools / materials prior to classes; constructing project examples; completing maintenance of stock and equipment; general cleaning task and ...assisting students with their work during classes. Manual Arts Teacher Aides are generally required to have some experience in the building, construction or metalwork industry and should hold a construction blue card, and a working with children blue card.
