01.01.2022 This week is National Volunteer week, the perfect time to recognise the impact of volunteers in our community and here at Resource Recovery MidCoast. Sheree began volunteering with us in the Reuse Shop in October 2020. "After my induction, I was hooked. I began volunteering Mondays, then Wednesdays and Sundays as well. It kept me busy and I loved that. I met some really lovely people. Every time donated boxes of goods came in and needed unpacking it was like Christmas!" Sher...ee said. Earlier this year, Sheree was offered paid work with us. "It was my first paid employment in 12 years. Working with RRA has widened my work ability and I love seeing the smiles on customers' faces after they purchase a bargain. My husband now volunteers as well. It never seems like work, instead, a great meeting place everyday!" Sheree said. Thanks to Sheree and all our volunteers for all you do!

01.01.2022 It's National Volunteer week, the perfect time to celebrate the wonderful volunteers who help brighten our sites across the MidCoast region. Phil and Lea (pictured) have been visiting Tuncurry Reuse Shop for around 9 years. They were renovating their house and found so many items they needed; everything from paint, timber, flooring, windows and kitchen items! They met our Shop Supervisor Tracey and became good friends, so decided to volunteer. That was four years ago now. ... Lea explained "We choose to volunteer at Tuncurry and Taree reuse shops because our help is always appreciated by the staff and customers. It it is satisfying and gives us a purpose by helping the community in an environmentally friendly way." "Everyone is helpful, we have a laugh; it's like one big family!" Lea said. Thank you to Phil, Lea and all our volunteers. You bring plenty of fun, and unique life experiences to our sites that enrich all our lives and our workplace. Interesting in joining the team as a volunteer? Whether you have a couple of hours per week or a couple of hours per month, we would love to hear from you. Volunteering at Resource Recovery Australia is the perfect way to get out and connect with our community, while doing something great for the environment. Interested in volunteering?
