22.01.2022 MARKET UPDATE We are seeing strong and steady market statistics coming from our beautiful island. Real Estate Institute of Tasmania president Mandy Welling said Hobart’s annual growth was a considerable 2.6 per cent above the national average.... Our regional markets across the state also continue to outperform most capital cities with a 9.8 per cent annual change in median prices. Through the September quarter the suburbs with the highest turnover are as follows; Devonport, Kingston, Smithton, Latrobe, Howrah, Glenorchy, Ulverstone, Riverside, Invermay and Wynyard. HOBART: Annual median sale price for houses increased by 8.6% to $546,388, and house sales were up 4.5% on last year. Rental vacancy rate decreased 0.3% to 2%. LAUNCESTON: Annual median sale price for houses increased by 9.5% to $373,939. Rental vacancy rate decreased 0.1% to 1.8%. NORTH WEST: Annual median sale prices for houses increased in Burnie by 11.9% to $287,396, Ulverstone by 17.2% to $356,500 and Devonport by 9.9% to $308,875 over the year.
