25.01.2022 Fabulous day at Mt Erin Secondary College, completing the Barista Training, in the Barista Bus. Classic espresso coffees were practiced, next up, were the milk based espresso coffees, where students learned the art of texturing milk, to achieve a silky micro foam, finishing off with an introduction to latte art. Well done all
24.01.2022 Well done to our budding Barista students at Our Lady of Sion. It was action packed, learning the classic espresso styles, the art of milk steaming & texturing, with a touch of latte art to boot. Congratulations to Scion and students on a successfully organised and supported day.
23.01.2022 Students at Officer Secondary College, completed their accredited food handlers SITXFSA001, National Statement of Attainment, in preparation for a special event the VCAL students will be responsible for. 23.01.2022 Congratulations to the Barista students of Lakeview SC. Thank you to Lakeview Secondary College for partnering with us to deliver quality training outcomes for your students.
22.01.2022 Fabulous day with the girls of Kilbreda College completing their Responsible Service of Alcohol Course. Congratulations to Kilbreda and the teaching team for investing in their students future employability skills, getting their students job ready. The girls took in a lot of information on the day, such as learning what a standard glass of wine is (100mls), then practiced pouring a glass of wine youd be served in a restaurant i.e. "an average restaurant pour" (150ml), und...erstanding that a standard glass of wine is rarely, if ever poured in the hospitality industry, most glasses of wine poured are 1.5 standard drinks. The girls also learned to quantify what a standard serve of spirits is (30ml), then practiced using jiggers, speed pourers and spirits bottles like a professional mixologist, to measure an accurate standard shot of spirits. A shout out to all the girls, well done you all passed and obtained your RSA Certificates
22.01.2022 Well there is no excuse for anyone to experience a bad cup coffee at St Bedes Mentone ever again. The 2019 Year 12 VCAL students successfully completed their Barista course, learning to make 8 different espresso coffees and successfully tried their hand at latte art. So if you want a great tasting coffee with style and a smile, then the young men of St Bedes have got it covered. Well done to all
22.01.2022 Congratulations go out to the 2019 Year 12 students of St. Catherines School, upon successfully completing their VCLGR RSA Certificate. On the day we established its rare to be served a standard size glass of wine and that the white etched line on wine glasses does not indicate its a standard glass of wine, in fact it usually indicates we have been poured 1.5 standard glasses of wine. We are often drinking more than we are aware. Best wishes the Year 12 exams
20.01.2022 Students had a great day at St Joesphs Echuca, completing their Barista course. Focused and determined, student learnt to grind, dose, tamp, and extract an espresso shot, until it was it was perfecto . The focus then shifted to mastering the art of steaming and texturing milk, to create delicious, silky smooth, milk based espresso coffees and finished the day trying their hand at Latte art. The espresso quality at the schools cafe will be in excellent hands with these students

18.01.2022 Had a fabulous day with students of Euroa SC. How much wine do we pour in a glass? Loads of interesting and valuable conversations were exchanged. Congratulations to all students on successfully completing your RSA. Look forward to returning next term and delivering your hospitality skills program. Have a restful break :)
15.01.2022 Inspired by the effort and team work, by all students at David Scott School in Frankston We spent the full school day focused on completing a information rich course on the safe handling of food in a commercial environment. On the day, students demonstrated competency not only in theoretical knowledge, but also did an outstanding job working in teams, when tasked with the practical application of safe food handling principals. Congratulations to all students upon successfully achieving your Food Handlers Certification, a very valuable employability skill.
15.01.2022 Well done to the students of St Peters College, Cranbourne East, on completing your food handlers course. We discussed a range of critical issues relating to food safety, such as the importance of personal hygiene, clean preparation and service areas and the correct storage of food. Many interesting discussions were had along the way, and we finished off cooking Chicken Fajitas, applying safe food principles learned. Best wishes for year 11, 2020
15.01.2022 What an enjoyable day spent with the students of Avila College. We completed the Food Handlers Course and applied practice skills to the knowledge gained for safe food handling. We applied the principles of HACCP using coloured coded chopping boards to avoid cross contamination in the preparation of food. Green for vegetables and yellow for raw poultry. Well done to all upon successfully completing the Food Handlers Course
14.01.2022 Congratulations to all the year 12 students of St Joesph's College Echuca, upon successfully completing their RSA course today. We discovered the little, etched, white line you see on a wine glass, does not indicate it's one standard drink (100ml of wine), it usually indiciates 1.5 standard drinks (150ml), so our customers are actually being served more than they are aware. We also learned how important it is to use a measuring device, such as a jigger, when dispensing spirits. Best wishes for the remainder of 2020
14.01.2022 Toss and flip like a pro...... RSA For Schools was at Mt Erin Secondary College today, with Year 11 VCAL students, completing a very valuable employability skill; Food Handlers Course. The boys had a extremley productive day, staying task focused throughout the entire course. Well done, you represented your school in fine fashion, whilst succesfully qualifying for your food handlers certificate.
14.01.2022 A fabulous jam packed day spent at Genazzano FCJ College, completing the Responsible Service of Alcohol Course and Barista Training. So next time you ask for a strong, half skinny milk, half almond milk, extra dollop of froth, but only half full Latte...thanks, the girls will have it covered In our RSA class the girls learnt a standard glass of wine is approx. 100ml. So the next time wine oclock approaches, take a minute and measure the contents you commonly pour in your wine glass....the vast majority of us pour more than a standard, which surprises many.................
14.01.2022 VCAL Students of Covenant College are off to a head start, completing their fully accredited Food Handlers qualification and Barista Training, in preparation for running the school cafe throughout 2020. We covered an amazing amount of information and got busy in the kitchen, preparing a delicious meal safely......it was a big thumbs upto the chicken Fajitas from all students Well done best wishes for 2020
13.01.2022 Congratulations go out to the 2019 VCE Students from Our Lady of Sion, upon the successful completion of their RSA Course. Best Wishes from RSA For Schools on the remainder of your academic year
13.01.2022 The Year 12s of Marcellin completed their RSA Course, placing them in job ready position. Try your luck working in a bottle shop, hotel, club, restaurant, catering company, accomodation, 5 Star hotels, ski fields, casio, theme parks, festivals, cruise ships and the list goes on. We learnt is not against the law to freehand pour spirits and that well run venues dont allow staff to do so. Spirits are strong and if we over pour, the customer cant quantify their drink, or i...f we under or over pour, we cant consistency build a quality drink, so we use jiggers or electronic mesuring devices. We also leant it rare to be poured a standard glass of wine and that some wine glasses can hold as much or more than a whole bottle of wine . How much does your wine glass hold? How much wine do you pour in your glass at home? A standard size glass of wine is 100ml....... We are often drinking more than we are aware...........Congratulations
13.01.2022 What a fabulous few days we spent at Matthew Flinders Girls Secondary College in Geelong. Students successfully participated in RSA, Food Handlers and Barista training. Loads of great conversations exchanged and so many new skills attained. Well done, have a restful term break.
11.01.2022 Assumption College VCE Students competed their RSA Course after a busy school day. Students committed their valuable time to gain an employability skill and legal requirement, that will assist them in obtaining employment to help support further tertiary studies. We incorporated the use of intoxication glasses when completing our role play, with many surprised at the level of impairment caused to their coordination and balance. Well done to all for such a great RSA class.

10.01.2022 Thanks to all the staff and students at David Scott School for inviting RSA For Schools to deliver their students the Victorian Responsible Service of Alcohol Course and for supporting the students and myself throughout the day. Congratulations to all students on successfully completing the RSA course and qualifying for your RSA Certificates. Students interest and participation throughout the day was top notch. We had a bit of fun practicing pouring standard drinks, an impo...rtant concept to understand, so we can manage the intoxication of our customers effectively. The RSA course is a very valuable employability skill and all employers in the hospitality industry need you to have it. Thanks for providing lunch for everyone, the sausage sizzle was a lovely bonus - who doesnt love a sausage with sauce in bread
10.01.2022 RSA For Schools was honoured to be back to Assumption College Kilmore, conducting an RSA Course for VCE students of 2019. We gave students the task of trying and work out how much wine to pour in a wine glass, when a customer orders a glass of wine. Most of us would be surprised to discover its rare to be served a standard glass of wine. It is a commonly adopted industry norm to pour every customer approximately 1.5 standard glasses of wine in each glass.....Students were surprised we rarely pour standard glasses of wine.
10.01.2022 We had couple of marvellous days with students at Star of The Sea, completing a Food Handlers and RSA Course. The Students learnt many measures in the safe handling of food in a commercial environment, including, the handling of high-risk foods, temperature and time controls, personal hygiene considerations, safe receival and storage of food, cleaning and sanitizing and topped it off in a practical demonstration of safe food preparation, cooking and assemblage of ready to ea...t food, which was completed in a most professional manner We returned to Star of The Sea and students completed a Responsible Service of Alcohol Course, learning there is no such thing as a standardised set of wine glasses and according to research, wine glasses have doubled in size over the last 10 years. So when we when we pour a glass of wine, we are often consuming more then we think........
09.01.2022 Congratulations go out to the girls of Sacre Coeur on completing both their RSA and food handers courses. The girls had some fun along the way whilst obtaining vital employability skills. We learnt that wine ordered by the glass or poured into a wine glass for us in a restaurant, is not a standard glass wine, its typically 1.5 standard glasses......beware when counting your drinks, if driving on a full drivers licence. We also got to make and eat super tasty Chicken Fajitas as part of our food handlers course. Well done to all, you all made the training day totally enjoyable. Best wishes 2020, Regards Caroline
08.01.2022 Congratulations to all the year 12 students of St Joesphs College Echuca, upon successfully completing their RSA course today. We discovered the little, etched, white line you see on a wine glass, does not indicate its one standard drink (100ml of wine), it usually indiciates 1.5 standard drinks (150ml), so our customers are actually being served more than they are aware. 07.01.2022 Assumption College students completed their Food Handlers course. Students learned about the Temperature Danger Zone and that time and temperature are critical in minimising or eliminating bacterial growth. Students also learnt hygiene of the premises and themselves, personally feeds into food safety. Congratulations to all students on successfully completing the course.

06.01.2022 Heaps of fun and skills learned today at Keilor Downs Secondary College. We practiced some essential employability skills for jobs in hospitality; how to carry 3 plates and how to set a table and the essential skills of a good mixologist. We created instagram worthy, non alcoholic strawberry Daiquiris, made a fine lemon lime and bitters to rival any in Melbourne and a creamy, dreamy Pina Colada, incorporating the techniques of blend, stir, muddle shake and build. I was genuinely touched and appreciative when presented with a beautiful bunch of flowers at the end of the day. Thanks to all students for your enthusiasm & energy.
