18.01.2022 Yesterday morning Yarrabah's Remote School Attendance Strategy hosted a 'Welcome Back' march as part of our back to school campaign. The aim of this march was to send a strong message to all members of the Yarrabah community about the importance of education and attending school every day. A number of school students, school staff and representatives from organization and stakeholders in the community took part, as we walked together from the council chambers down to Yarrabah... State School's primary campus. The idea of a community march came from the concept of showing our kids that as a community we do support and nurture their education and that everyday counts. We took this opportunity to promote the positives in Yarrabah community by extending an invite to WIN NEW and Bumma Bippera Media who both took on full coverage of this event. Because of the huge success we had this morning the Yarrabah RSAS team will host a 'Welcome Back' march at the start of each school term as a way to excite and build hype in the community around the importance of attending school everyday. WELL DONE TEAM!
