04.01.2022 MIKAYLA O'HALLORAN BEGINS HER CUTTING CAREER It was a very special weekend for 11yo Scone Cowgirl Mikayla O'Halloran for this was her first show after having l...essons on her stock horse with Warwick Screen over the past few months. She was also given the opportunity to show Warwick's gelding 'Chisum's Boyd' (NCHA 2019 Open Derby Finalist and the 2018 NCHA Open Limited Futurity Reserve Champion) in the Rookie and Youth classes at the Peel Valley Cutting Club show and she did an amazing job, marking a personal best score of 70pts in the Rookie class and following it up with 69pts in the Youth class. This talented young rider has been riding since the age of 2 after getting her first pony 6 months before that and over the years she has competed in a variety of disciplines including Show Jumping, ASH Youth Classes, Show Riding, Pony Club, Campdraft and now, she's found our great sport and the smile on her face when leaving the pen was priceless. And on Sunday, she returned to the pen to show her own horse 'Principles Deputy' in the Snafflebit class. Mikayla told us, "I really love working as a Team with my horse, having lots of fun and I'm really grateful for all the help and encouragement I have received from my fellow competitors and the spectators and I want to say a special thank you to Warwick for all he has done and the chance to ride 'Chisum', I just loved it and can't wait to do it all again as soon as I can! Mikayla, we loved watching you, congratulations on having such a great first show and we look forward to seeing you at many more shows in the future.

First horse trained by Warwick Screen after coming home to Australia, and this combination put themselves on the map together. How wonderful to see him now Warwick, Im sure its just his second beginning and these two will do you proud.
