25.01.2022 Well we have our seat now and she sure is cozy in there. Now we have the seat we can mount it up and then move onto the steering colum and pedals etc..

23.01.2022 Well abit of chopping and changing at the moment but we have just had the Dodge back to do some final fitment of the new intercooler. With the location of the intercooler in the radiator support panel, we opted for running 50mm square instead of round. We need 2.5" round and we didnt have the room to fit it. 50mm square has an area of 100cm2 and the 2.5" round has an area of 30cm2. So we knew that volume was fine and the extra area will make up for the flow characteristics o...f the square. So back to the owner to do some temporary intercooler pipes. So keep close by as I'm sure we will be seeing it sooner rather than later with some other big plans on the horizon

22.01.2022 There is no better way to start you weekend than going through and giving the shed a good clean and tidy up! So now onto the falcon to get this watts linkage buttoned up!!

22.01.2022 When custom isnt quite custom enough.. off the shelf shock mounts didnt work 110% how we would have likes so a small tweak and they will be much better!

21.01.2022 I must say.. having the right tools for the job just makes everything easier! This is just a quick trial piece for the new steering column. More pic to come though!!

20.01.2022 So not that we have the 4 link bracketry setup and we are happy with the shock mounts we have focussed on the watts linkage setup. We have set it up with the bellcrank vertical but with the heim joints fully wound in so that we are able to unwind them to put some angle on the bellcrank.

19.01.2022 Well its been a busy weekend but we will just leave you with this for now. With the plan for more power came the plan for some more strength so we have added some extra gussets and bracing onto the lower 4 link mount for the dodge. We have also been working on a BMW and the R34 again.

19.01.2022 Here is something i am thinking about doing on a Friday afternoon for everyone. I want to have an informational post for people to read and get a small insight into Motorsport and Fabrication in general. Some may be more in depth and some may be a bit simpler. Most of the time they will follow roughly what we are currently working on so people can see and understand a bit more of what we are doing.

19.01.2022 Well i guess i should probably post up a small update on the R34. So now we have it back we are going to be moulding our new front bar. This is it at mockup stage so hopefully tomorrow we will be able to go out and start laying down some fiberglass as its currently raining and we dont feel like getting soaked. So stay tuned and we will hopefully be able to put up some updates tomorrow

18.01.2022 Not as much done this weekend as we would have liked. But the diff is in the back and a we have dummied up the 4 link arms. Unfortunatley we currently dont know where the CG of the car is so were not 100% sure about how much squat we have so we have setup the bars parallel.

18.01.2022 Sorry for the minimal posts the past couple of days but we have had a couple of days out of the workshop with some good mates. So back into the swing of things this week so we will be getting you guys some more updates on the XE Falcon!

18.01.2022 So now with one side of the watts linkage setup because we want to run the bars parallel to each other we were able to take our one we had already made off the car and put it on the bench and plot out our other side mount alot easier.

17.01.2022 Well with the right tools comes the right job! This is going to be part of the steering column support for the falcon. We're not going to get too much more done on the steering column for a while but stay tuned for some other updates!

17.01.2022 Some pretty awesome footage. No pics from the workshop tonight so we will have to leave you with this. Definatley worth a watch, some big names there!! Plus i dont think i have ever seen that many spectators at Mallala.

16.01.2022 Abit of a late one tonight, but what some people put there trust in back in the day amazes me! It looks like they were trying to experiment with some bump steer by moving the rack. Well these days we have abit more of an idea of what we were chasing and with some added safety in mind we have locked down the position of the rack and tigged on a washer for some added strength and peace of mind!

15.01.2022 Its always good delivering a car back to a customer and then being wrapt with the final results. So the R34 is back in the shed so hopefully now we will be able to get some more work done on the skyline and hit the track. But stay close as the falcon will be back in the shed in no time to button up a couple more bits and pieces.

15.01.2022 So its Thursday night, we have been out in the shed and we are formulating a list for the weekend to bust out a couple of jobs and get some of the XE falcon boxes ticked. Whats everyone elses plans for the weekend? Getting some boxes ticked? Trying to get out to the next Race day or Show? Post a pic of your project below!

14.01.2022 So now we know where all the 4 link is sitting, the shock mounts and the watts linkage bracketry is made up we have tacked everything to the housing for final fitment into the chassis to check everything fits as it should. Then we will pull it all back out and check the housing for straightness then weld it all up brace the shock mounts and then recheck straight and once we have some axles we will be able to cut the housing length down and fit the bearing ends

14.01.2022 Noone enjoys working with filthy parts. To sit down for 15 mins with some degreaser and a wire brush makes the following weeks much more enjoyable!!

13.01.2022 So i present you with the diff that were using for the Falcon. Its a Ford Bronco diff, were using it as it is a Big Bearing housing and we will be ustilizing some 31 Spline axles and quite possibly a Full Spool center. We have opted to modify this housing instead of going to a full fabricated setup as it is more of a period correct modification. Taken a standard housing, cut off the bearing ends we will lathe down the current weld to a taper narrow up the housing and then reweld the bearing ends back on.

13.01.2022 Its not every day you see a Mini Cooper giving a Mustang the hurry on..

12.01.2022 Well it has been an EXTREMELY productive weekend we have managed to finalise all of our suspension setup on the front end, got steering arms worked out for minimal bump using original mounting points on the chassi etc.. If you want to know anymore about the build feel free to shoot us a message about it or your own project.

10.01.2022 A late update tonight guys. But back doing a couple of small tidy up bits on the Dodge D5N and a couple of upgrades.. One of them being a nice large custom intercooler, fits nice and snug in the front rad support and close the radiator upto it and it all fits beautifully! Cooler was all custom fabbed for this car sit worked a treat. Will keep everyone updated on whats coming next so stay tuned ;)

10.01.2022 Ticking some boxes today! Getting all the front arms measured and cut, hopefully have front wheel on today! Unfortunatley we are locked into our geometry to a certain degree as were not allowed to move any pickup points on the chassi as its a historic so we are working with the stub to make some more desirable bump and camber change.

10.01.2022 Shock mount made and lower arm welded up. We will be welding up the upper arm tomorrow and then make some bars for shocks so that we can get some built once we have some more specific details on regards to corner weights etc..

08.01.2022 Unfortunately this week not a whole lot to show as i have been flat out with other work. But we have a plan of attack for the Falcon this week and something a little bit different next weekend. But for now i will leave you with possibly one of my favorite videos of all time!

08.01.2022 Slowly but surely were getting more and more boxes ticked. Getting ready now to start welding everything up. We have both sets of arms on the front end fitted up and all the wheels specs are where we want them. So now were ready to pull it all back appart and weld it up. Now focussing on the rear end, 4 link arms are abit long so were going to take them back appart and cut them down, refit etc..

08.01.2022 Well here you go guys, this is the first informational post we have done. #1 Watts Link VS Panhard rod. These are only applicable on a Live axle rear suspension and not the more current independent suspension systems. Panhard Rods and Watts links are fitted to the live axle in order to keep it centered in the body of the car in question. ... Panhard rods are seen in most factory street driven cars, they are a good compromise of cost and effectiveness. The Panhard rod works in an Arc so as the car goes through Compression and Rebound the axle will actually move from side to side. So running a Panhard rod that is long as possible is ideal to limit that side to side movement. The Watts link consists of 2 equal Length Bars joined by a Bell crank. Generally speaking, the Bellcrank is mounted on the Diff and the 2 Rods are attached to the chassis, but it can be the opposite way where the Bellcrank is Mounted on the Chassis and the rods are attached to the Diff. This setup is superior in the fact that you get no side to side movement that you get with a Panhard rod but this also comes at a price of added weight for extra tubes, bell crank, Heim joints and complexity. When it comes to Roll Centers on the rear end they are extremely easy to workout. With a Panhard Rod the roll center height is the height of the Panhard rod as it crosses the centerline of the axle. The roll center is always moving with a Panhard rod so there is never a constant relationship with ride height or the center of gravity. With a Watts link the roll center is the center pivot of the Bell crank, but if the Bellcrank is mounted on the diff then the roll center stays relative to the ground but will change in relation to the center of gravity, but if the bell crank is mounted on the Chassis then the roll center height will change in relation to ride height but stays constant to the center of gravity. I have brought up watts links and Panhard Rods as we are going to be building a Watts Link for the Falcon in the coming days. What are you guys wanting to know that we can do for next week?

07.01.2022 Well onto the front suspension in the XE falcon. We are utilizing HQ stub axles as that is what would have been used back in the day. We have drilled out the taper top and bottom and machined up some adapters for optimum arm heights/angles and to take the new heim joints. We have started making up new arms and will mockup this side to test out geometry and wheel alignment.

07.01.2022 Well unfortunately not too much to show today as we have been experiencing power outages all day. So we shall leave you with this! He was called the king of the mountain for a reason, and him driving at 11 tenths was one of the reasons. So sit down and make sure you watch this!!

06.01.2022 Just another reason why i love Sports Sedans. I think my favourite part of Sports Sedans is the fast that parts from every where are constructed in such a way that you will have 5 different makes and models just to built the front suspension. Out Falcon has HQ stub axles, torana steering rack and leyland mini cooper shocks. Invention through nesecity!!

06.01.2022 I have a feeling that he may have let his wife put his seat in and maybe he should have picked a different task for her.. there are 5/8 holes through 3/4 tubing for 1/2 bolts.. the whole seat moung was just destined to fall appart. So we have cut out alot of the tubes with holes in it and will be fitting fresh tubes and re making the seat mounts for the kirkey

05.01.2022 So we had a BMW E46 come to us with a creak in the rear end. The E36 was notorious for cracking the rear subframe mounts and as do the E46. So after removing the subframe we found a crack around 150mm long. So we welded that back up and made some spreader plates and fitted it all back up better than new

05.01.2022 So we have managed to get a couple of thousand kms on the dodge and were about to turn the boost up so we thought lets lift the tray off and have a look see if anything is moving etc. So we have strengthened a couple of parts, tidied up others and have re designed other bits plus now adding the AC condensor to the rear of the chassis rails.

04.01.2022 Just goes to show how important safety is and why CAMS are so strict at scrutineering. Watching this live on TV it was a big impact and he didnt move an inch in his seat and got out without any injuries!

02.01.2022 Sorry for the average pictures but the morning sun has been amazing! Well watts linkage is all dummied up and now onto welding up the bars.
