11.01.2022 Latest press Release from Minister Alan Tudge this morning: New measures will apply to the major classes of temporary visa holders International Students: International students who have been here for longer than 12 months, who find themselves in financial hardship can access their Australian superannuation to support themselves, if unable to rely on family support from overseas. ... The Government will also be flexible in cases where COVID 19 has prevented international students from meeting their visa conditions. Some education providers/institutions are providing fee discounts and government will undertake further engagement with international education sector who are already providing financial support for international students facing financial hardship. If working in aged care and as nurses, then can work more than 40 hours a fortnight to support these critical sectors. Those working in major supermarkets have also had these hours extended. MOST IMPORTANTLY: those already working in supermarkets on extended work rights will have these work rights cease on 1 May 2020 to normal 40 hours a fortnight because more Australians are going to be recruited to fulfil these roles. 05.01.2022 **For those who intend to move into SA** In case you missed it, from Saturday 24 October, relocating from Victoria to South Australia permanently will now be a valid reason to enter South Australia, although people will be required to complete the Cross Border registration form and must quarantine for 14 days on arrival.
