20.01.2022 Special Event Kiama 19 July 2018 Talk by Commodore Chris Smallhorn, RAN: Commander Fleet Air Arm The Kiama-Jamberoo RSL Sub-Branch has great pleasure in hosting a public presentation by Commodore Chris Smallhorn, Commander Fleet Air Arm. He will speak on Naval Aviation and Tomorrows Threats. This is a terrific opportunity to hear what our Navy is doing in the Defence of Australia, and learn what todays Navy is doing in our area.... The presentation will take place from 5-6.30 pm on Thursday 19 July 2018 at the Joyce Wheatley Community Centre, Hindmarsh Park (off Terralong Street), Kiama. All welcome. Admission is free. 16.01.2022 New Meeting Day for Kiama-Jamberoo RSL sub-Branch. Commencing on Sunday 8 September 2019 we will be trialling a new meeting day for three months. Lunch will commence at 1200 followed by a meeting at 1300 at the RSL Hall in Jamberoo (opposite the Jamberoo Pub). All veterans and interested persons are welcome.

11.01.2022 REMEMBRANCE DAY KIAMA - CENTENARY OF WORLD WAR ONE This Sunday marks 100 years since the end of the Great War. There will be two Commemorative services in Kiama: 1. We will gather at the Kiama Memorial Arch on Terralong Street at 10.15 am. A service will commence at 10.30 am and conclude after the Silence and the Last Post at 11 am. 2. There will be a Special Dedication Service at the Kiama Lighthouse. We will gather at 4.15 pm. The Service will commence at 4.30 pm and conclu...de at 5.10 pm. It will include dedication by Kiama Mayor of a Memorial Plaque. This will be followed at 5 pm by the playing, by the Kiama pipes and drums, of a lament called The Battle is Oer. This lament will be played simultaneously around the World, across Britain and all the Allied (Commonwealth) countries to commemorate the end of World War One. Lest we forget.
