05.01.2022 Anyone up for the challenge from our Sub-Branch?!

04.01.2022 Brendan Nelson, Director of the Australian War Memorial, joined Detective Sergeant Marcus Boorman, Australian Federal Police, this morning with a simple messag...e to ‘Pop a poppy on your car’. As an act of remembrance the Australian War Memorial is urging Australians to put a commemorative poppy on their cars to help mark the centenary of armistice. Popping a poppy on your car is a very simple way of saying: ‘I care and I remember’, Dr Nelson said. It marks you as a person who simply wants to say: ‘I am grateful for the men and women whose sacrifices have given me the freedoms that I enjoy.’ Not everyone has a car, or a Bushmaster armoured vehicle for that matter, but don’t let that stand in your way. You can put it anywhere just put a poppy on something that’s important to you and show your respect for our servicemen and servicewomen. Said Dr Nelson Poppies are now available from the Memorial shop and online for $9.99. https://www.awm.gov.au/shop/item/9348980002616 Proceeds will support Legacy Australia and the Memorial.

02.01.2022 The RSL can assist ex-service personnel in many ways. Be sure to get in touch if you or someone you know is doing it tough. Compassionate support and company is one call or message away.
