25.01.2022 During kitten season, feline intake at RSPCA NSW increases by eight times, up to 500 kittens each week. In just two years, one pair of undesexed cats can lead to 20,000 kittens which is why desexing is vitally important to prevent unwanted pregnancies and keeps your beloved feline friend healthy. For more information on kitten season visit our website https://bit.ly/3kAtT7a

20.01.2022 RSPCA Inverell Volunteer Branch Media Release 25th October 2019 The RSPCA Inverell Volunteer Branch is pleased to announce the results of another very successful subsidised combined desexing and vaccination campaign for pensioners. Funded by the Inverell Volunteer Branch with the assistance of Inverell Shire Council, RSPCA Sydney Auxiliary Volunteer Branch, Inverell Vet Clinic and Gowrie Vet Clinic a total of $11,270 was spent desexing and vaccinating dogs and cats belonging ...to pensioners in the Inverell district. In total there were 52 dogs and 49 cats desexed and there were 41 vaccinations. In time, this should make a significant difference to the number of dogs and cats which are reproduced and become unwanted because of the limited number of suitable homes and the vaccinations will assist in ensuring that the animals do not contract debilitating and deadly diseases. The RSPCA Inverell Volunteer Branch would like to thank the Inverell Shire Council, RSPCA Sydney Auxiliary Volunteer Branch and our two vet clinics for their support in allowing us to offer this service to the pets of pensioners in Inverell. Another campaign will be conducted when sufficient funds have been raised and pensioners will again be encouraged to participate in the program for their beloved pets. See more

20.01.2022 The RSPCA Inverell branch monthly meeting will be held this morning in the Freckle Room at Freckles Cafe due to the cold weather predicted today, starting at 10.00. Everyone welcome!

19.01.2022 To protect the health and safety of our staff and the wider community, we’ve had to make some temporary changes to our usual adoption process. As of Friday 27 ...March 2020, anyone interested in adopting a furry or feathered friend from RSPCA NSW must fill out an online form before visiting one of our shelters. After the form has been submitted, one of our friendly team members will get in touch with you to set up a meet and greet. While we understand this may be an inconvenience, we’re sincerely hoping you’ll still get in touch to enquire about adopting one of our animals they’re just begging to self-isolate with you! These measures will ensure that the number of people in our shelters at any one time is kept to a minimum, as per the advice from the Australian Government. There's no better day than today to gift someone special with a random act of kindness! Today we want to give a special shout out to all of our volunteers and supporters, foster carers and fundraisers who help us, no matter how big or small. Thank you so much for everything you do.... #HappyWorldKindnessDay

14.01.2022 Due to the overwhelming response to the free cat desexing program the Inverell branch had to close the program early in the month. In total, 167 cats have been desexed, 101 females and 66 males. I wish there was a way we could measure the success of the program. Hopefully it has made a huge difference.

13.01.2022 Have you ever thought about becoming a foster carer? RSPCA NSW’s Foster Care program provides temporary homes to animals who need a helping hand. This might be because these animals are too small or young to be adopted, recovering from illness or surgery, are undergoing rehabilitation or even just finding the shelter environment too stressful. Our foster care program also supports animals in regional locations that do not have RSPCA NSW facilities. By placing animals into fos...ter homes, it provides them with the care and support they need until they are ready to be adopted into loving forever homes. Becoming an RSPCA NSW foster carer is an incredibly rewarding experience. It’s the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of some of the state’s most vulnerable animals. You can find out more information about foster care here: https://www.rspcansw.org.au//RSPCA-NSW-Foster-Care-FAQ-24- You can apply to be a foster carer here: https://app.betterimpact.com/PublicEnterp/EnterpriseSearch

11.01.2022 During this time, RSPCA NSW is committed to finding loving homes for all our available animals. If you’re interested in adopting a specific animal from RSPCA N...SW, we encourage members of the public to fill out an adoption appointment request online and wait for our team to get in touch. The adoption process will then be conducted over the phone. Please do not go to our shelters. If approved for adoption, an available team member will then transport the animal outside their new home to have a ‘meet and greet’ and to finalise the adoption, ensuring all physical distancing measures are adhered to. This new process will be enforced at all shelters and branches and at our Tuggerah Care Centre. Adoptions will continue at Petbarn, as per Petbarn’s policies. Despite these significant changes, we want to ensure you that our standards for rehoming will remain the same finding the perfect forever home for our animals has been, and always will be, our top priority. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this strange time. With your help and support, we can ensure our animals still experience the love, care and forever homes they deserve. Fill out an adoption appointment request here: https://rspcansw.org/2R1gBVs For more information about our COVID-19 response click here: https://rspcansw.org/2QCuo4x
