16.01.2022 Today is the 25th anniversary of the Hand Over of Booderee National Park back to the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community. Booderee is Aboriginal land. On 11 October ...1995 the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community Council was granted freehold title to Booderee National Park, then known as Jervis Bay National Park. The community leased the national park lands and waters to the Director of National Parks that same year. Since then the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community Council and Parks Australia have worked together to jointly manage the national park and conserve its rich cultural and natural values. We are grateful to be on this journey with the Aboriginal people of the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community. Together we will continue to work together to protect and conserve this very special place for future generations.

This will allow NSW Health to complete a risk assessment, and to allow a deep clean of the Green Patch Campground amenities to occur. NSW Health is advising anyone who stayed at the Green Patch Campground at Booderee National Park on Sunday 23 May (all day) or Monday 24 May (until 9am) to call the NSW Health contact tracing team on 1800 943 553, get tested and self-isolate until you receive further information from NSW Health. While we regret the inconvenience caused by this temporary closure, the wellbeing of our visitors, staff and local communities continues to be our first priority. 01.01.2022 Booderee National Park Closed Due to extreme weather conditions over the past few days, Booderee National Park has been forced to closed again to allow work to remove fallen trees and structural damage to Ellmoos Road, leading to the RTBU Holiday Park. Apart from these access issues, the Holiday Park also sustained some damage through these storms. It is anticipated that these will be resolved reasonably quickly, but we advise all guests and visitors to stay away from the area until such time as we have been notified that all amenities have been restored.
