03.05.2022 WA public sector workers deserve a decent pay rise! #keepyourpromisepremier #waneedsapayrise

23.04.2022 After years of tireless effort from unions and community activists, today the Fair Work Commission has made an in-principle decision that 2.66 million workers covered by modern awards should have access to 10 days paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave. The next federal government will have to decide whether to extend paid family and domestic violence leave to all workers covered by the National Employment Standards (NES) ensuring the right covers an additional 8.44 million ...workers. While the NES covers the vast majority of Australian workers, award provisions only apply to one in four. We call on Scott Morrison to match Anthony Albanese’s commitment to providing 10 days paid family and domestic violence leave through the NES.

12.04.2022 Today is the 53rd anniversary of the 1969 General Strike that freed jailed Union Leader, and one of our very own, Clarrie O'Shea. With the resurgence of our organised workers’ movement, we must now more than ever remember the legacy and lesson of Clarrie O’Shea’s defiance and the workers of Australia’s 1969 general strike: that nothing is ever given without struggle, and we must have the courage to struggle together and break the system’s unjust rules if we’re to change ...them. Please take the time to watch this video and share this post! If you don't fight, you lose! - Clarrie O'Shea https://youtu.be/sW19xvla1qo

27.03.2022 Don't think for a minute that the State Government would have "scrapped the cap" if it wasn't for the unions of the Public Sector Alliance and you, their membership!

07.03.2022 Watch our Branch Secretary Joshua Dekuyer address the media following the release of the 2022/23 State Budget yesterday. The question keeps getting asked if we are willing to strike. I think people need to realise we are not going to need to...Our members are leaving in droves...You are going to feel the impact without us having to walk off the job - Joshua Dekuyer #keepyourpromisepremier #waneedsapayrise

02.02.2022 Today RTBU WA PTA Branch Secretary attended the post State Budget Press Conference to speak on the disheartening position taken by our State Government on its Wages Policy for public sector workers. Branch Secretary Joshua Dekuyer can be seen giving his opinion from 20mins 05 seconds to 22mins 40 seconds in a raw and unscripted response. We do encourage you to watch from 10mins 20 seconds to 25mins 15 seconds to see what UnionsWA and other unions of the Public Sector Alliance had to say on today's budget.

19.01.2022 Today, WA's Premier and Treasurer Mark McGowan will hand down the 2022 State Budget. Let's see if the Premier provides ''Public sector pay that keeps up with the cost of living". Whilst the proposed $400 electricity credit is a start, and will help with the cost of living, it's not the payrise WA public sector workers deserve! ... We will be on the steps of Parliament today at 2pm, with other members of the Public Sector Alliance, providing a statement to the media about today's budget. #keepyourpromisepremier

04.01.2022 National Executive - Day 2 We continued to work with RTBU Branches from across Australia to strategise, plan, and implement change to improve our Branches and our ever growing industry! Big thanks to the RTBU Qld Branch for their amazing 2022 Labour Day shirt designed by one of their very own members, Laurie Anno. ... Labour Day this year was a special one, and was a celebration of the anniversary of the historic Mabo decision. Eddie Koiki Mabo was an RTBU member that stood up for justice and took on the odds to achieve a monumental decision that began the process of recognition of First Nations Australians. So to recognise the importance of that decision, the RTBU dedicated this year's Labour Day shirt to Mabo. Time to head back to Perth!

27.12.2021 Don't get stung by the recent rate increase Earlier this month, the RBA raised the cash rate for the first time in 11 years. Since then, there has been a lot of chatter about interest rates moving, with some lenders passing on the full rate increase already... Thankfully, you don’t have to worry. At RTBU Home Loans, they know which of Australia’s top lenders have increased their rates and who has kept them the same. ... Visit https://rtbuhomeloans.com.au/ to speak to their friendly team.
