Always looking' out for each other. #bettertogether! #childsponsorship #dogood #nonprofit #volunteer #charity #change #causes #socialgood #philanthropy #india

25.01.2022 Without wages and proper nutrition in the worlds biggest COVID-19 lockdown, millions have been left malnourished. The first phase in our COVID-19 recovery plan is to treat and assist poor health and lack of nutrition.

25.01.2022 In many parts of India videoing death and suffering is not considered distasteful, rather a mere documentation of reality. This week we have received several videos of local families grieving as loved ones passed in their arms, of impoverished families suffering the pains of malnutrition and dehydration as they endure lockdown. We wont share these videos with you as they are hard to watch. But this clip is of two young children, being taken from their families after testing positive to COVID-19.

25.01.2022 They say the world will never be the same after COVID-19. Let's start building a better one.

25.01.2022 When someone talks of poverty as though its caused by the actions of its victims, and you gotta try and hold your tongue. #childsponsorship #dogood #nonprofit #volunteer #charity #change #causes #socialgood #philanthropy #india

23.01.2022 During the COVID-19 Lockdown, Indian hospitals could not offer treatments for many other medical conditions. Even now, with many hospitals no longer offering COVID-19 treatment and with State Governments instruction people to care for themselves at home, those with other medical issues are finding it hard to receive care. We are now deploying all of our resources to offer medical care for those in need.

23.01.2022 Last week we delivered another 1000 food parcels to desperate families facing severe hunger. But many more still need our help! $20 buys 20 days worth of food for a family fighting poverty and the disastrous secondary effects of the COVID-19 lockdown. https://www.thertfoundation.org.au//products/20-for-20-days

23.01.2022 We’re in phase ONE of our COVID-19 Recovery Plan and we need you to give ONE person access to healthcare and nutrition. Thats $7 to start the recovery of the ONE https://www.thertfoundation.org.au//send/products/recovery

22.01.2022 To date, we have sent $58,000 worth of COVID-19 food relief Hundreds of thousands have been fed and given a fighting chance to make it through this crisis. We want to thank those whove generously given. Whilst theres still so much to be done, we need to stop and celebrate the incredible thing you have done in the lives of so many!

22.01.2022 Another 1550 FAMILIES received food parcels over the last few days. In two days you delivered emergency food to families in another 14 low-caste villages. This comes as the government announces LOCKDOWN 5.0 which will persist until JUNE 30! For many families ANOTHER month of lockdown would have devastating, even life-threating effects, so this food, for these 1550 families, is life giving. THANK YOU.

21.01.2022 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT- its April Fools Day, don't believe them! You're welcome, we're a charity, its what we do!

21.01.2022 Happiest of birthdays to our very own Leon Holder. This incredible guy came out of retirement to volunteer his time and skills to The Foundation, and we are forever grateful he did. We couldnt do what we do without you Leon and today we celebrate all you are and all you give to the world!

21.01.2022 We've stayed home, social distanced to protect one another. We also have the ability to reach out, to give to help another. $20 = 20 days of food.

21.01.2022 She's cute and sassy and clever. She's bold and brave and can't wait for school. She already knows what it is to work and will work hard at school. She's got it all, except for opportunity and someone to help that happen for her. She needs a sponsor

20.01.2022 Preparations for FOOD DROP 2. This week we will deliver food parcels to nearly 1000 families in dire need. The parcels are basic, but have been packaged to get families through the next 20 days.

19.01.2022 Some our Foundation family have asked how they can help in this time of crisis. For those who can, and would like to help us get more food to more families, here is where you can give. https://www.thertfoundation.org.au//prod/once-off-donation

19.01.2022 Today is the last day of the financial year. Its also another day that hundreds of thousands of families will go without food and the ability to work. Make a tax deductible donation today and give food and hope to families suffering the increasing effects of COVID-19 in India

19.01.2022 We exist to empower those whose are oppressed by systems of injustice and inequality. For us, our fight normally exists in the realms of economic injustice. We use our economic privileges to empower those whom suffer under the system that privileges us. But even economic injustice can never be entirely isolated from racial injustice. Yesterday, today and tomorrow we join with the world as it creates spaces of silence to amplify the voices of POC. We commit to always learn, to always listen and then to act. To continue to fight systems of injustice, systems that privilege one over another.

18.01.2022 Child Sponsorship will give her an education, access to clean water a& nutrition, maybe even a doll with a head!

17.01.2022 21 kids. 18 school aged. 9 in uniforms, 9 not. Some kids are still at work. Everyday in this village, less then half of the kids get to go to school. The rest watch them go or have already left for work. Theres nearly 50 kids in this poor village that we need help getting to school. Sponsor one today! #childsponsorship #dogood #nonprofit #volunteer #charity #change #causes #socialgood #philanthropy #india

17.01.2022 We’ve move from responses of 'Relief' to Recovery. Despite cases still rising, lockdown has lifted and we have activated 'phase 1' of our recovery efforts. First we target health. Lockdown has left millions malnourished with many untreated medical issues. We are mobilising our ambulance and medical camps to offer nutrition, supplements and healthcare plans to those in need. We need you to partner with us again.

16.01.2022 Huge thanks to everyone who has generously given to the COVID-19 food relief appeal! So far you have fed over 3000 families across several regions, and we aren't stopping yet. Every $20 will be another family. THANK YOU! https://www.thertfoundation.org.au//products/20-for-20-days

16.01.2022 For the last 6 months we have been responding to the COVID-19 crisis with emergency supplies. These efforts will not cease. Even with lockdowns lifting, the increasing COVID cases will still make it hard (and risky) for the poor to work. We will continue to ensure basic needs are met and we are still needing your help to do so. If you can invest $20 into feeding a family for 20 days, they still need it. We have also been working tirelessly on a recovery plan. We refuse to l...et this crisis steal the years of progress made. We refuse to allow it to throw millions back into poverty. But we are going to need your partnership more then ever. Stay posted, and if you can. please give. https://www.thertfoundation.org.au//prod/once-off-donation

14.01.2022 over the past 3 years our REUNITING FAMILIES has fought to return children to their parents and restore families that have been pulled apart through poverty. RIGHT NOW, this global pandemic redefines FAMILY. We are reminded that we are all inseparably connected. Let this be the REUNITING FAMILIES project we all participate in. #unite

14.01.2022 To our sponsors. We committed to keeping you informed about any confirmed COVID-19 cases within the villages we work in. With nearly 10,000 new cases in India daily, till now none of these had been in our community programs. Today one of the villages we work in reported its first case. A young mother, with confirmed COVID-19, and her 2 month old child have been taken to hospital. This means that the village goes into the most strict form of quarantine. The government has dro...pped bags of bleach in the streets and whilst many are scared we are doing all we can to support our families there. We will ensure the affected family, and any other cases that may arise, receive adequate care. We will do our upmost to support this community during this time of crisis and in its recovery thereafter. The local pastor and community elders have asked that we give our thanks to those who are supporting them. They have asked for your prayers and continued support. For those of you that sponsor children, if there are any more confirmed cases that affect your child or their family, we will be sure to let you know.

14.01.2022 There is a cure to poverty, a vaccine to the unequal harms endured by the worlds poorest and most vulnerable.

14.01.2022 A short ABC story of the worlds largest lockdown in India and its secondary effects on the poor. This is just a snap shot. The stories coming from the nations red zones, which are off limits to journalists, are devastating. Thanks for helping get food to thousands of families facing hunger. https://www.facebook.com/72924719987/posts/10161226382384988/?sfnsn=mo&d=n&vh=e

14.01.2022 Let us not again forget that we are not all that separate. We are undeniably connected, together and interdependent. We are at our best when those more immune to harm, protect and help those most vulnerable.

12.01.2022 COVID-19 Recovery Action Plan: Phase 1 MALNUTRITION TREATMENT AND HEALTHCARE $7 will provide nutrition, supplementation and a healthcare plan to someone in need. HELP US FIGHT BACK ... https://www.thertfoundation.org.au//send/products/recovery

10.01.2022 Some parts of India will see lockdowns lifted this month, despite the growing number of cases. People in these areas are scared. Again it will be the poorest that will feel the repercussions of a lockdown lift the most. It was the poor that were hit hardest by lockdown, unable to earn money and feed their families. Itll be the poor who will now have to risk exposure, in desperate need of money and food. Inequality sucks. The poor will always be more vulnerable to crisis, always bearing the greater of sufferings.

10.01.2022 Ready for the weekend like... #childsponsorship #dogood #nonprofit #volunteer #charity #change #causes #socialgood #philanthropy #india

08.01.2022 Having just come out of lockdown, the ST Colony and most of Narsapur was hit with floods. Floodwaters in the colony made cooking nearly impossible. So starting today they’ll receive a cooked lunch every day for a week. A small, but much needed and appreciated break for this struggling community.

07.01.2022 We believe in humanity... in its potential to love and heal and create a better world. Even as the inequalities and injustices in our world become unavoidably visible. It is an opportunity for us to see them, feel them and decide to help heal them. Thank you to everyone who has joined us in the fight against economic inequality. Because of you over 4000 families will not feel the full and devastating effects of their poverty during this increased hardship. We hope this is a tiny reminder and celebration of our human potential.

07.01.2022 Its time to fight back. Let's not let the poor and vulnerable bear the biggest burden again

07.01.2022 Today another 50,000 cases will be confirmed in India. Millions will spend another day in lockdown without basic provisions. We dont have the means to rescue people from this virus, but we can perhaps ensure kids and poor families dont die of poverty during then world biggest and potentially fatal lockdown. $20 will give a family food for 20 days

07.01.2022 About 25% of rural Indians have access to public outpatient healthcare. 80% of doctors are in urban areas. With nearly 80,000 new COVID cases a day there is no health 'care' for the rural poor. Our little ambulance has been doing its humble best to assist in this deficit. But last week our ambulance driver was in a severe accident. We were able to ensure he got the care he needed. Without your financial support his situation may be very different right now #healthcareforall #dogood

06.01.2022 Welcoming three new healthy kids to the world. This woman received a micro-credit loan just last year. She wanted to breed goats to increase her income and help her family. Huge thanks to the Australian family that funded this loan. This family will live better because of you. #microcredit #dogood #nonprofit #volunteer #charity #change #causes #socialgood #philanthropy #india

06.01.2022 Nearly 30000 new cases daily. Over 500 deaths a day. Millions without work and food. One district we work in is facing problems burying their dead, with many family members too scared to conduct a funeral. This fight is not done

06.01.2022 We received this message today from a project manager working in one of the red zones that some of the RT projects are in. "The politicians, village elders, pastors who asked me for help, These are the villages that need help most urgently: 1st village 50 families 2nd village 95 families... 3rd village 40 families 4th village 210 families 5th village 70 families 6th village 60 families. If we can help them at least rs.600 each family they can have nealry 15 days food. This is only bare necessities, not like first food relief in our project villages" (THAT'S $12 FOR 15 DAYS OF FOOD FOR A FAMILY. We'd like to have more, but this will at least prevent immediate starvation ) Next week we need to send food into these 6 villages along with several more. THIS WILL BE OUR SECOND FOOD RELIEF DROP, THAT WILL ATTEMPT TO REACH JUST OVER 1000 FAMILIES. After that we try for round 3 as we are in several other districts, with more villages, all needing food. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO'S SUPPORTING THIS CRISIS

05.01.2022 COVID Update on our Indian Projects India is now 2 weeks into total lockdown. With no ability to earn an income, many families are facing dire food shortages. We have moved all of our resources into meeting these basic needs and right now emergency food packages are being delivered to the villages we are working in. It is with great relief that we can report that there have been no confirmed cases in the villages we are in or any sponsored children. Thank you to everyone who is helping us meet these increased needs.

04.01.2022 More families need our help now. You've helped us get emergency food parcels to thousands of families. But with COVID-19 worsening and lockdowns amplifying, more people need our help. We need to get food to another 900 families. Families without an income, families fearfully facing starvation. ... $20 is food for 20 days for one family. Please give generously now (also in time for the end of the tax year) https://www.thertfoundation.org.au//prod/once-off-donation

04.01.2022 Another happy recipient of our micro-credit loan. This buffalo and its milk has more then doubled this families income, empowering them to care for and educate their kids. As they repay their loan, we can fund another, helping another struggling family escape poverty. to find out more about the micro-credit program see our website

03.01.2022 India still needs us. While COVID cases continue to rise, donations are slowing. We need to send in more food. $20 will ensure a family is fed for 20 days. We dont know how long this thing will last, but we know there are millions of families that cant go another week without food. ... https://www.thertfoundation.org.au//pro/once-off-donation

03.01.2022 We just received news that one of our project managers has tested positive for COVID-19. He has been instrumental in our food distribution efforts, ensuring thousands have essentials, and now he is fighting for breath. Whilst thousands of Indians are now forced to fight this virus at home, we have ensured he is receiving some care. But in an environment of poverty that care is not as it should be. This virus sucks and poverty, as it always does, has only made it worse and its suffering greater.

02.01.2022 Emergency Food Relief packages being delivered to poor families in RT Foundation villages. Unable to earn money during the COVID lockdown, most of these families ran out food a week ago. This food was gravely needed and incredibly appreciated. THANK YOU RT FAMILY

02.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE 2- All four of the districts the Foundation work in have recently been declared COVID "RED ZONES" - infection "hotspots". In RED ZONES, what has already been the world's largest lockdown will be extended. Fears rise as the poor in these areas face certain hunger. "Amongst the poor, this pandemic has become a humanitarian crisis and we are responding as such."

01.01.2022 Happy back to school QLD! For some, today was a day for celebration, for others its a little bitter sweet. But for all of us its a reminder of the privilege it is for this to even be an option. Right now more than 1.5 billion children are out of school because of the pandemic and experts forecast that millions of young girls in developing nations will NEVER return to school because of the increased financial pressures. COVID-19 is not only hitting the poor the hardest now... but is predicted to push another half a billion people into poverty. Right now we are continuing to respond to immediate hunger with as many food packages as possible. We are also planning for a stronger come back with more extensive, deliberate projects. With your help, we will fight to ensure that this pandemic doesn't undo the progress made, that it's sufferings are not long term and that the intensified poverty it's brought is quickly exiled.
