23.01.2022 RTO Doctor spends considerable time and effort to assist all providers to maintain quality training and assessment and survive in one of the world's most hostile regulatory environments. Australia's VET & international education sector is absolutely fighting for survival for a whole range of reasons and anyone who is currently operating, working or studying in this system is at risk. RTO Doctor aims to bring current information, advice and expert recommendations to guide ever...yone in this sector whilst also ensuring that the National VET Regulator (ASQA) is accountable and transparent at all times. ASQA's functions are clearly identified in the National Vocational Education and Training Act 2011 (Cth) at s 157. They also must abide by the Australian Public Service Act 1999, the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (Cth) and the Legal Service Directions 2017. The reality is that we do not, as a country have a very transparent or accountable National VET Regulator in the performance of its duties across this legislation. This is not news, it's why there have been inquiries undertaken (Braithewaite review, Joyce Review for example) and 2 petitions have been lodged with parliament. RTO Doctor will not tolerate abuse or threats to undermine any member of the RTO Doctor community, nor will it tolerate abuse or threats to undermine anyone who provides information to the #enoughisenough campaign. You are not welcome on this page and I dare say, you would not be a welcome participant in ANY VET forum or discussion. There is no room in any conversation that I personally, or RTO Doctor as a company will tolerate where such behaviour is demonstrated. RTO Doctor does not welcome anyone who delights in trying to destroy other people's businesses and livelihoods. It is unacceptable. For the reasons outlined, RTO Doctor will not hesitate to ban people whose sole intention is to act in this manner effective immediately.

22.01.2022 URGENT ASQA PROVIDERS TAKE NOTE It has come to my attention today that: Australian Government Solicitors (a department of Attorney-General Christian Porter) and the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA, an agency of the Minister for Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business Michaelia Cash) are using the COVID19 crisis to question the financial viability of Australian training businesses collectively employing over 400,000 of Australia educators, trainers and support ...staff, with a view of potentially forcing them to cease operations. 12.01.2022 The new COVID Infection Control Unit... Has anyone actually looked at the content of these units? The newspaper article that I posted earlier and again below says it is expected to be delivered online - how does the government expect this to really be conducted online? And...while having 3 different skillsets (food handling, retail and transport & logistics), it is the exact same single unit in each of them. https://www.watoday.com.au//infection-control-training-lau ... How much industry consultation occurred when developing this unit? Who quality-assured it? Apparently, despite being for food handling, retail and transport & logistics (according to the skillsets, the unit application states "...applies to individuals working in health and direct client care contexts" Does the teenager at the local McDonalds, KFC or cafe really need to complete all of this? And the truck driver delivering produce to Coles & Woolies? Employers are expecting that their staff will have completed nationally recognised training but as per the newspaper article, you can complete it online and not be issued with certification, so what's the point? How will employers legitimately know? As if they can tell the difference between a Statement of Attainment and a Certificate of Attendance! And do they really care? All they really want to do is open their businesses again! 10.01.2022 At a time when ASQA is promoting its new audit model under its attempts at 'reform', I thought it would be important to remind everyone that there is nothing more in need of reform at ASQA in my opinion than this! There are so many cases that are unnecessarily dragged through Tribunals because of a lack of competency of ASQA auditors. What's even worse is they are required under Schedule 1 to use industry advisors and technical experts when required. 08.01.2022 Have you seen the new, NOT EQUIVALENT first aid unit? In addition to the significant changes, not equivalent outcome, the unit title doesn't meet the training package standards which it purports to. The rule for developing units of competency has always been that the unit title is in sentence case so why is this unit suddenly different? @SkillsIQ who was responsible for the quality assurance on this one?... This is going to cause mayhem. With so many RTOs having been identified as not compliant for this very issue, it will be interesting to see what happens with this! All that money that will be raked in for the amendments to scope... All those qualifications that will be required to deliver a superseded training product because of another training package change. 07.01.2022 I don't often bring matters of religion out publicly because I know everyone has their own beliefs and I respect everyone's rights to believe and practice what they choose. However, when my one-minute motivation arrived from Elevation Church in the United States today, I couldn't help but think that there was nothing more relevant to the voice I have in Australia's VET sector and the voice of the national regulator ASQA. The point is ASQA has the potential to make the regulat...ion of Australia's VET sector great, or the potential to poison it and prevent its future growth. ASQA has the potential to support Australia's 4000 odd providers to ensure that they have the tools and resources to flourish and prosper, or it has the potential to continue to undermine and destroy. Like ASQA, I have the potential to sit back and accept the manner in which they regulate, the injustices I see daily, explain all the hidden 'extras' that ASQA will never tell you about until you're neck is on the chopping block. Or, I can use my voice to try and empower the sector to take control of their livelihoods, their homes, their families and understand that not everything is as it seems.
