23.01.2022 Did you know....a babys grasp is so strong that its body can hang in midair with its bent fingers supporting its own weight. Not sure how researchers diacovered that. Perhaps we just trust that?

22.01.2022 Dale Wellcoat is a qualified Remedial Massage Therapist. She is a member of Australian Traditional Medicine Society. Since qualifying in 2004, she has worked in several local chiropractic clinics and a local naturopathic clinic. She is also a qualified Infant Massage Instructor. She studied at Infant Massage Information Service (IMIS). Rub A Bub is group class where you will learn to massage your baby, with your Parents Group in your own home, or at a neutral location (Gr...ange) if you prefer. If you dont have a Parents Group we can talk about other options. There is increasing research to the benefits of infant massage for both infant and parent. Many cultures have been doing massage on their babies for centuries. There are 3 one hour weekly classes. During these classes, as well as the full body massage, you will also learn the best time to massage (is it bathtime?), how to choose the best oil, who should massage your baby, the many benefits. There are also special routines for colic, reflux, wind, constipation. There are benefits for special needs babies and for parents, can aid bonding, for post natal depression. It is also good for the fathers, when you may not feel that you are able to do much. These classes are at an easy pace, with no pressure. I am eager to do a special Rub A Bub massage class especially for twins, on weekends, so that both parents can attend and work on a baby each. That way no-one misses out. And there will be a great discount; a set of 3 one hour classes will be the price of one baby not 2.... half price. $110 per family. Please contact me if you are interested. 05.01.2022 According to a recent UK study, parents get less than 5 hours sleep per night in the first year of their babys life. The same study found it took about 54 minutes per day to put their baby to sleep. In their sleep-deprived state, parents believed they had more arguments with their partners, hallucinated and forgot what they were saying. Some admitted to even forgetting their babys name. Some of the methods sleep-deprived parents found useful to get baby to sleep were creating routine, reading to them, reducing eye contact before bed, walking or driving until baby fell asleep and a comfort blanket. Baby massage was also listed as something a parent could do to settle their baby to sleep deeper and longer. And the good thing is that either parent can do it.
