17.01.2022 On the 1st of May I started a challenge that I hope resonates and inspires people to jump on board to better the environment that we live in. Recently Ive been supporting RunferrisrunN on social media and yesterdays video ignited a drive within me to make a change. After extensively traveling to some of the most beautiful and remote areas of Australia, I have found no escape from humanities destruction in the form of rubbish - from cigarette butts to micro plastics and almo...st everything in-between. It has reached the point which myself and others in my generation and younger are consciously choosing to not have children because in 20-30 years the world will be an uninhabitable rubbish dump. I know that by myself I cant change the world but if I can get people involved, together we can make an impact. Do you want your kids to be able to enjoy a fish at the local fishing hole 10 years from now? The chances are slim unless we act now. Pollution of our planet with rubbish is one of the many problems we are facing on an environmental basis but it is something in which we can all make an easy effort in reducing in our daily lives. As of today Im starting a challenge where I will pick up 30 pieces of rubbish, each day after Ill add 1 more piece of rubbish. I encourage everyone to have a look around you now - see for yourself the problems we are facing. I dont expect everyone to get involved but I hope to raise awareness and encourage direct action in changing the surrounding environment- just one piece of rubbish at a time. Be conscious of plastic use - reuse, recycle and try to seek bio-degradable products in day to day life. The development of hemp and other plant based materials can hopefully replace single use plastics in our lives, reducing the plastic which is claiming our once beautiful and pristine country. We need to make a change now!
