25.01.2022 Small and Family Business Tax Cuts Small and family business are the backbone of Australias economy. From July 1 small and family businesses will be paying less tax as a result of legislated tax cuts passed by the Morrison Federal Government. As the 2020-2021 financial year begins, incorporated small and family businesses with a turnover of less than $50 million will see their company tax rate reduced from 27.5% to 26%.... Unincorporated businesses will also benefit as the rate of the small business income tax offset increases from 8% to 13%. The changes mark the next stage of the Morrison Governments accelerated small business tax cuts, legislated in October 2018, which brought forward tax relief for small and medium businesses by five years. As COVID-19 health restrictions ease and the economy re-opens, this tax relief will support Western Australian small and family businesses to bounce back stronger and get to the other side of this crisis Lower taxes mean more money for small business owners to reinvest into their business and create more jobs for Western Australians. Its so important that we all back our local small and family businesses to help them get ahead, create more local jobs and support local families. This will have a meaningful impact for businesses here in Southern River, businesses that I have been visiting and hearing from in the last weeks, businesses that make it clear that times are tough and they need all the support they can get! 24.01.2022 WA has the highest number of unemployed people in its history. We now have 124,000 people unemployed, with 11,800 more joining the unemployment queue in the last month. It has increased from 8.1% to 8.7%. Since February, 81,500 jobs have been lost despite the Premier claiming that he is creating jobs.... WA needs a jobs plan.
23.01.2022 I had a great time with our volunteers last night calling into Southern River! I was able to have a terrific chat with Cecil, who it turns out lives just a stone's throw from my house. He has concerns about hooning in our local neighbourhood and our local roads being used as drag strips. That's why a Liberal State Government will invest in local police, who have the resources to deal not only with major crime, but also anti-social behaviour like hooning.
19.01.2022 On Friday evening my team and I were privileged to host our first 'Slam Dunk' event. It was a great night with two terrific speakers. The Honourable Ken Wyatt AM, MP, Federal Minister for Indigenous Australians spoke to us about his journey - what an inspiration he is! We also were privileged to listen to Greg Hire, former Perth Wildcats vice-captain, who spoke to us about his great loves - family, basketball and now mental well-being. It's so important to check in with tho...se in our circles, our neighbours and friends to see how they're doing. Look out for each other and let's keep working for a stronger sense of community.

I am so proud of the team and also tremendously grateful for the terrific grass roots support that we have as a party. Thank you to all who helped get the message out there!
