17.01.2022 Up to 80% of women are wearing the wrong size bra...... but why? It’s really not your fault, mostly it’s because shops don’t stock your size. The most common sign you are wearing the wrong size is your band rides high up your back. It should be level around your body. When this happens your breasts sag forward and the straps may fall off your shoulders. You are most likely tightening your straps to get more support and possibly getting deep marks on your shoulders. ... This often happens when you may think you know your size (let’s say 14D) but when the cups don’t give the coverage you need and there is no 14DD you opt for a 16D or worse 18D. You see the cups on a 18D are the equivalent to a 14F which would give you the correct band size AND the correct cup size. Whilst the 18D fits in the change room it certainly won’t do its job once you start moving around. That’s why at Rubenesque Lingerie we stock up to K cups, to ensure you stay in the correct band. I have always fit between a 10F and 10J so I absolutely understand the difficulty in finding a good bra. I have played sport, breastfed kids, tried to buy strapless bras, plunge bras and I get it, being D+ cup can be a nightmare bra shopping. ... So after the dramatic entry of 2020 with the bushfires and having to buy bras online that didn’t fit, I completed a bra fit course and now I am here to not only find a bra that fits but looks great, feels beautiful and changes how you feel about bra shopping. 12.01.2022 It is exactly 1 year since I made the decision to open Rubenesque Lingerie. I had no idea what was in store for me or how the shop would go. People often asked me: Is there a market for D Cup plus? Will people go to the Main Street to shop?... why would I leave a secure job? Well I am pleased to say there are lots of women out there who are larger than a D cup and size 16. And I now stock smaller cups too for those looking for something a little different to what other shops offer. Clyde Street is coming alive and I can’t wait for Spaces to open next door. And I have learnt that there is more to job satisfaction than just money. I have met so many amazing women and love that I can relate to their fear of bra shopping. Hopefully I help to overcome that anxiety just a little. We have already tripled our stock since opening and continue to add new styles and products as demand needs.
