20.01.2022 Thank you Jason Perry, the Thumbprints Running Group and donors. On 3rd October, Jason and co completed a tremendous challenge, running 102K around Launceston using the Launceston Urban Fringe Trail (LUFT) to raise funds for Ruby Red Foundation. Ruby Red Foundation supports Australian medical research which demonstrates real potential to improve the lives of people with rare blood cancers called Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPNs). Jason is motivated by his wonderful wife B...elinda. Belinda bravely manages the demands of being a Primary School teacher, juggling the needs of raising her own family, whilst living with the devastating symptoms of an MPN yet rarely complaining. She is as enthusiastic and passionate teacher and mother, who continues to put everyone else first, since being diagnosed with an MPN over 10 years ago. People with MPNs usually suffer in silence with debilitating symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, bone pain, digestive issues and depression. People with MPNs are at risk of life threatening bleeds or clots which can cause heart attack or stroke. There is currently no way to slow disease progression and no cure. By donating to Jason's campaign, you have helped raise nearly $3K, which will directly contribute to world-leading research which has the potential to improve diagnosis and monitoring of disease progression, or may lead to new treatment pathways.
