11.01.2022 PERTH PET OWNERS - BEWARE PARVO VIRUS REPORTS. At Vet24 we have had several pups test positive for Parvo Virus over the past six weeks from various locations a...round Perth. This is very alarming for vets and pet owners alike. Other clinics have reported similar findings and we have growing concerns that we are experiencing an outbreak. *Please vaccinate your dogs, be they puppy's or adults. This is the best way to protect them. *Avoid taking your unvaccinated puppy to any public dog area. *Parvo Virus can live without a host and can be tracked into the home on your shoes/clothing. If you have a puppy at home, please avoid walking through high traffic dog areas and then into your home. *If your puppy develops vomiting, diarrhoea or is acting dull, please take him or her directly to the vet. Remember young pups can deteriorate very quickly. Please vaccinate and remind friends to vaccinate. Parvo Virus has no cure, we can only provide supportive treatment and even then it is often fatal.
