05.01.2022 Back to chasing sapphires! 185 cts plus 317 cts of large bombs (five). Some fine little cutters amongst that rough. From both mines. Finished main infrastructure with 2nd egress shafts at both mines now operational. A nice 3.5 ct light blue crystal. Cracked through the middle, but that is ok. Will cut two SRBs. Before and after photos of South Mine wash. Face of the previous extra-large boulder on the far left. Behind it, a small void into the old workings. After excavation t...here was a high ledge on the right and the backfill scree from the old workings on the lower left floor. All the large bombs where found in the North Mine. Floor is high and rises steeply with ridges in the floor rock (photo taken after excavation). Wash pinches out. I would not have thought this would be good topography for sapphires. I will next take the section of wash behind the shovel.
