21.01.2022 You’re tired, exhausted, sleep deprived, mentally empty. You have nothing left in the tank. You know that feeling? Your friend’s baby sleeps like a baby yet your baby doesn’t, you are up that many times you’ve lost count. You really want to dislike your friend because they have a sleepy baby but, you can’t, because she’s your friend. You’ve got multiple people offering multiple suggestions on what to do, when, how and why. You are so overwhelmed that you can’t even track ...who said what and why. You’ve read 100 books but you just don’t know what will work and what won’t. Everyone has a different experience because their baby is unique. What may have worked for your friend’s baby may not necessarily work for yours. Your baby is unique, their temperament is their own, how they grow and develop is individualised. There is no one size fits all for any kind of parenting, for every baby. Sometimes, just stop reading ALL the books AND JUST PICK ONE. Listen to all the advice, BUT JUST TAKE FROM IT WHAT SITS WELL WITH YOU. If you decide to try something new with your baby, make sure it is something you feel comfortable with and something that you can give a good go at before deciding whether it has or hasn’t worked. Sometimes we try so many things all at the same time that your baby be like, WHAT THE HELL?? So many differing parenting opinions/polls/specialists/authors but they won’t all relate to you, but you do relate to your baby so you do what works for you and forget about your friend’s baby or the book that your friend swears is the new baby bible. This is your journey, take the path that is going to make you feel like you are on the right track, because as long as that path leads to a happy healthy Mum and Bub ... then it’s always the right path!!! 19.01.2022 A simple sleep schedule guide to follow Following your babies wake windows is extremely important when it comes to sleep, this is number one key to finding your childs perfect sleepy time that will help regulate a sleep routine and healthy sleeping patterns which also allows your child to get the adequate rest required before they become over tired and fussy. Naps are also super super important, this helps your child get the rest they need through-out the day to strive, le...arn and grow. When children are awake past there wake windows they will get what's known as a cortisol rush (like a shot of caffeine for us adults) they will become, fussy, irritable and cranky, babies will fidget and stay awake for long periods they will have alot of difficulty falling asleep and staying asleep. Sleep issues can arise such as night wakings, early morning rising, shortened length in nap times which then can can create a vicious cycle of poor sleep and an exhausted family. Your childs behaviour will be a big indicator whether they have had enough sleep or not. Children that do not get the required sleep do not strive to learn nearly as much as a well rested child
