20.01.2022 OUR STORY Rugby is the world's most popular contact sport. But in the birthplace of Aussie Rules, lovers of the game they play in heaven are well and truly outnumbered. The Rugby Club of Victoria was foundered to provide a home for rugby players, supporters and fans, a place where we can come together and share our love of the game, raise funds to support its growth and through our actions, demonstrate to Victorians the values of rugby. ... We are a completely independent grassroots organisation with no connection to the Melbourne Rebels, Rugby Victoria, or Rugby Australia. Please share our page with any Victorian you know who loves Rugby and wants to see it grow in this State.

17.01.2022 THANK YOU! Inaugural Rugby Club of Victoria investment round success Raising and investing funds in initiatives that grow rugby in this State is at the heart of The Rugby Club of Victoria.... So you can imagine the joy, satisfaction and excitement in the room as more than 50 members and guests gathered yesterday to hear from three fantastic applicants at our inaugural investment round lunch and decide which would receive $10,000 in funding, donated by members over the past 12 months. Our thanks to Jimmy Orange (Academy Movement), Meretiana Robinson & Patrick Hausman (Rugby Victoria) and Mhairi Fourie (Maroondah Rugby Club) for their impressive and inspiring presentations. It was difficult to find a clear winner from three wonderful applicants. In the end, Jimmy Orange's Academy Movement program won the support of members and $10,000 in funding to help establish rugby academies within State Government High Schools and hopefully replicate the success he has already achieved at Fountain Gate Secondary College. After Jimmy's gracious acceptance speech a remarkable thing happened. One very generous member offered $5000 to each of the runner up applicants. This amount completely covered the $5k that Maroondah were seeking in funding and half of what Rugby Victoria were seeking. Another member said he would match any donation made to help cover the $5000 gap and in the true spirit of rugby, further pledges of $100 each were called for and made that covered that gap, so we are in a position to announce today that over $25,000 was raised and pledged for our three wonderful applicants! A remarkable result for our inaugural investment round and most importantly for the growth of rugby in Victoria. It's not too late to donate! Want to see rugby grow in Victoria? You can be at the heart of a step change in rugby numbers in this State by making a tax-deductible donation to The Rugby Club of Victoria Foundation and helping fund great initiatives like these ones. https://asf.org.au/projects/the-rugby-club-of-victoria/

16.01.2022 OUR PURPOSE #2: HELP GROW RUGBY IN VICTORIA Do you remember your first steps on a rugby paddock? You're first game? The lessons this game taught you for life?... Why wouldn't you want more kids, more adults to have that? To carry with them the lifelong pride that comes from saying, 'I'm a rugby player'. To have one of the greatest social networks anyone can plug into, anywhere in the world: the Rugby Club. To be part of a game that celebrates any shape, any size and welcomes anyone willing to give it a go. We want more Victorians to experience the joys, the mysteries, the incredible camaraderie of the world's most popular contact sport. If you want to be part of that - join us! https://rugbyclubvic.com/

02.01.2022 OUR PURPOSE #3: BURNISH THE VALUES OF RUGBY No one can define them exactly, but every rugby player knows what you mean by them. Why are the values of rugby so inherent to this game and so rare in others? ... Perhaps it is because anyone who has played this game, put their body on the line for their teammates, can't help but respect their opponent, indeed anyone else willing to do the same. Perhaps it is because this game is such a test of character, that what is remembered long after the final score is forgotten is the heart you showed when you played the game. Perhaps it is because we know the referee is the one thing that stands between us and bloody mayhem and that means in this game we respect and never degrade, the ref. No one will ever be able to say for sure. But the values of Rugby are perhaps the greatest part of this game and as rugby people, as the Rugby Club of Victoria, we must do our best to honour them and live up to them.

01.01.2022 Great news for Rugby in Victoria! Congratulations to Rugby Victoria for their patience and persistence in pursuing this cornerstone of Rugby infrastructure in Victoria.

01.01.2022 In the wee hours of the morning 2.30am our time, Exeter will take on Quins for the English Premiership final. Whilst we wish the best of luck to both teams, we want to send a special Good Luck to a friend of The Rugby Club of Victoria , Matt Carley. Good luck Matt with refereeing and we know you will do a great job. Cheers from sleepy Melbourne. Also a shout out to another friend in Michael Lynagh, whose son Louis is playing for Quins
