24.01.2022 Rich in Vitamin C and Vitamin K, the nutrients in Broccoli are best preserved by steaming, stir-frying, microwaving or snacking on raw florets. More than 85% of the worlds broccoli is grown in the northern hemisphere, however here in Australia, we are mid-season in our winter harvesting right here in the Lockyer Valley before moving to Stanthorpe and The Darling Downs for summer. 100% grown in Australia!
23.01.2022 Corn Silk are the long silky fibers that grow as part of an ear of corn, forming a tassel at the corn tip. These are mother natures way of helping catch grains of pollen to pollinate the plant and lead to the forming of the corn kernels. Each individual silk thread is attached to its own kernel on the corn cob with anywhere between 500 and 800 strands likely on each cob. Try counting them next time you throw some fresh sweet corn on the BBQ.
