20.01.2022 The Run For A Wish committee have over the past few months been seriously considering the future of the event and for ourselves as volunteers. Given the importance of the work that Make A Wish does everywhere but particularly for our local community and the children they support, the decision by the current committee has not been an easy one to make. We the committee have decided to finish up our involvement with Run For A Wish, and as a result the 2019 was the last event. T...he committee would especially like to thank all our walkers and runners over the past 8 years in making the event very successful and in so raising an incredible $170,000 for Make A Wish and the fantastic work they do in making so many children’s wishes come true. We also like to thank all the volunteers on the race days for their support in making the event run smoothly and past committee members for their time and dedication. The event also could not have got up and running if it was not for the exceptional support of our major sponsor of every year Brendon and Michelle from the Tasmanian Eye Institute. We are incredibly indebted to your generosity and support and thank you and your team, especially Jennie. RFAW has been very fortunate to have a number of other race sponsors and sponsors in general. There has been so many sponsors over the years and we thank you all for your generosity and support. We would however like to name our other 2 race sponsors in McDonald's and Launceston Medical Centre together with their teams. We would also like to thank Michelle and Simon Frost from SMIK Design who started the journey with us as volunteers and also managing our web page and design needs. Again the committee would like to thank everyone who supported our event in any way since 2011 and we do hope in other ways you will continue your support with Make A Wish. 19.01.2022 The committee are super excited to announce we raised over $20,000 for Make-A-Wish yesterday. A huge shout out to all of the wonderful participants and awesome volunteers who were out on course for several hours in very, very hot conditions . You guys rock! A link to the timing results will be up in the next couple of days and photos will be posted tonight. Feel free to tag yourself and anyone else you know.
