25.01.2022 Hello Spring! Hello September 1! Hello to TWO new Comps to help you get out the door and run. Both Comps can be seen on the website. Log into your account & click on the "Competition" Tab. The individual Comp simply asks you to do better in September than your current yearly average! Do your best! The Club Comp has a unique prize of an IPICO Sports Timing system for the Club that earns the most points in September, by:... (i) Attracting new Primary Members. (ii) Adding more distance to your Clubs 2020 total. (iii) Improving on your Club's yearly average. (iv) Getting ALL your club members to run in September.
25.01.2022 Friday Fun one ....... Which one are you??
25.01.2022 Insurance sorted which means now with a Covid Safe plan, I can start creating small events to attend member finishes. With restrictions on gatherings and a responsibility to do the right thing, I have missed a few.... but hopefully now (where possible) I can get to a few more to round out 2020. Obviously travel restrictions are still in place so Im still limited by those rules, but hopefully that will change soon if we all do the right thing and borders open again soon.
25.01.2022 We are half way through the August Comp and Week 3 tasks have just been emailed to all registered entrants. For the rest of us - here are the challenges for week 3. Feel free to play along at home. The main idea of this comp is to encourage people to get out the door, try things new, learn about the App and HAVE FUN!

22.01.2022 Run Down Under is excited to be heading to our first event in over 6 months!! Who will I see there?
21.01.2022 With 2020 still dishing out plenty of disappointment with races cancelled and events shut down, we want to once more bring some positivity back to the running world. Following the success of our Run against the Virus, we will be offering another 3 month free trial. And we are asking you to refer people to come join us on this trial. Start compiling a list of people you can refer.....the more the merrier and the more chances you have in the draw to WIN! Starting October 1, a c...ode will be issued and NEW members will be given the opportunity to come run the map of their choice for 3 months for FREE. And when they register, they will be asked how they heard about us. We want them to select "referred by a friend" and the write your name as the referral. Every referral will then go in the draw to WIN a Getaway to a race in 2021....including flights, accommodation and race entries for TWO! See more
20.01.2022 Who got their fix of therapy over the weekend?
19.01.2022 Have you run more or less since COVID-19 affected us all 6 months ago? In these tough times has it actually helped your running?
18.01.2022 Who is on a run streak? Whilst its not for me personally (I need a day off with no alarm at least once a fortnight) I do get inspired reading & hearing of peoples efforts. Its an amazing commitment! I know we have some amazing ones in progress, so who out there is on a streak of their own?
18.01.2022 This became more prevalent this year, we're so pleased to hear this. . - ?? #weruntogether #wewalktogether #keepingconnected #feelinginspired #runtheworld #runtheworldcommunity
16.01.2022 One of the challenges this week for the August Competition is to use the Timeline feature on the website. I love doing it every few months to see the battles Ive had, and am currently having. The short video below shows how it works. 1. The first thing I did was select a start date for he video to begin. I chose the day I started RDU2. 2. Then press play and watch your progress... I was hunting down Steve G, now Im being hunted by Stephen W! 3. Next I changed maps to Run Do...wn Under. 4. I selected friends. 5. I sat back and watched my journey around Aus and the battle I had with Kat. See more

15.01.2022 Who has had the biggest drop in their Estimated Finish Date? When I started RDU2 my finish date was June 2025. In just over a year Ive knocked almost 6 months off it. Im sure there are bigger improvements than this .... who has knocked years off??

10.01.2022 This Saturday, we are excited to share that we will be expecting our First ever Run around Europe finisher!! Please join us in cheering Des home . Unfortunately Melbournes lockdown means it will be a less formal affair than Des deserves.... but we can still cheer him home virtually. Des has completed both the Run Down Under and Run UK and Ireland Maps. Wonder whats next? Des wrote a few words to describe his journey. ... When I started, my Run Around Europe journey looked a little different than it does today. My Run Down Under concluded with a 12 month sprint to the end. Five months after starting I set a goal of a top 30 finish which meant no rest for a year. Thus i transitioned to London with a promise I would no longer let the App dictate my exercise routine. That lasted for about 4 months. Then List Position Fever took over again, the weekly kms rose and the estimated finish date reduced every month. At the start of this year I thought I might finish by Christmas. Later that became an October finish and I wondered if Dave and I could finish together. Then I was hit by Fly into July madness. 1899km in July while participating in this magnificent event saw my end date drop to August. At the end of July I was exhausted both physically and mentally. Combined with the Melbourne Covid lock down it would have been so easy to just stay in bed. But reaching a new town with Run Around Europe approximately every 4 days helped immensely with the motivation, albeit I hate being on the treadmill instead of getting outside. And thats why I hope to be finishing on Saturday, 2 years to the day after finishing Run Down Under." - Des Keuken Wow Des, we have been watching your journey and we're very excited and proud of your accomplishments. Your motivation is incredible and you're just one of the nicest guys, we're so pleased to have you as part of our Run the World Community. Go Des! #runtheworld #runaroundeurope #firsteverfinisher

It's something I am excited to announce and I love seeing where these funds are allocated to help clubs and charities in so many areas. I have also sent details about our Club Comp for September where I am giving away an IPICO Sports Timing System! Valued at over $30,000 brand new its just gathering dust in my shed and Id love to see it go to a home where it is u...sed more often. It is old and a bit dated .... but still works OK. One Club will WIN IT! The September Clubs Comp will be based on 4 variables, with points allocated for each, so start spreading the word and tag away. Check out all details on the website. Log into your account, click on the Competitions Tab and all details are there.... (i) Attract new Primary Members. (ii) Add more distance to your Clubs 2020 total. (iii) Improve on your Club's yearly average. (iv) Get ALL your club members to run in September. And stay tuned for the new INDIVIDUAL Competition for September which will be announced over the weekend.

07.01.2022 An awesome summation from Judith as she became Finisher 110 today! Well done Judith!! January 1, 2014 I joined the original cohort of Run Down Under participants. A 14,080k journey around Australia. Well today - 2,431 days after I started - I am finishing virtually in Sydney. Covid-19 has certainly changed a lot of things this year but one thing has been a constant and that is the opportunity to be able to get outside and run or walk to add to my journey. Exer...cise restrictions (1 hour per day) have also made it a little harder to get to my destination but they has certainly made me faster. A bonus at my age. Yes Im happy to be finishing but only so I can start New Zealand tomorrow. The moral of my story is that if I can do this so can you, so set yourself goal and go do it. After talking to Travis I realise that I have run approximately 40k a week every week since the beginning. Now Ill see you all in about an hour when I become a Run Down Under finisher and will post a few photos of my achievement, mask and all.
