18.01.2022 So true and sad
17.01.2022 In this "Maggie Moment", one of Australia's favourite parenting authors Maggie Dent talks about how to break it to children the very painful news that someone t...hey know or love has died. Maggie talks about who is the best person to do this, and how to choose the right time and environment. Maggie also talks about how children may react, how much detail to give and why it's important to actually talk about death, rather than using terms such as "passed over" or "gone to sleep" and how to prepare children for the sad time of grief that inevitably lies ahead. As well as being a teacher and counsellor prior to becoming an author and educator, Maggie has worked in palliative care and the funeral industry, and as a funeral celebrant she conducted over 200 funerals. She has a host of resources on her website about grief and loss here: https://www.maggiedent.com/common-concerns/death-loss/
17.01.2022 This says a lot about how Powerful it is to turn to and embrace your grief. I think there is a lot of grief to be felt for our world at the moment. All the uncertainty and challenging things happening. I certainly feel it.
17.01.2022 It’s difficult to be a good parent when you’re struggling with your own emotions. How we talk to kids about emotions has an impact on their social, academic, an...d psychological well being beyond the childhood years. That said, before we can teach kids to regulate their emotions, we must learn to manage our own emotions first. Read about the five things to keep in mind to help you deal with your emotions: https://bit.ly/3cYvZMd
15.01.2022 I so relate to this.im someone who processes by talking things out. And I keep seeing/ hearing how this helps my clients.
15.01.2022 A good place to start dialoguing and getting to know your Inner Child is to introduce yourself and ask if it is OK to have a chat with them and ask him/her ...to tell you about somewhere they feel safe. Follow on with asking what it is about that place that makes it safe for them. Always MIRROR whatever they say See here for how to: https://susiesheartpathblog.wordpress.com//%e2%99%a5mirro/ Ask a few Tell Me Mores (TMM’s) after each time they answer and Mirror all they say. The idea is to talk with them as if having a conversation as a way to connect and create a relationship with them as you would any child - not just being in interrogation mode. Other questions to ask your Inner Child are: - What are you feeling? - What's happening / what's happened that you're feeling that way? - What do you need right now? - What can I do to help you? - Is there anything else you need or want to tell me? These are adapted from the work of one of my teachers and mentors Dr Lucia Capacchione, PhD. Lucia is a pioneer in the innovative method of non-dominant hand drawing and writing for Inner Child/Inner Family healing and recovery. I recommend all her books with the following 2 being the best ones for connecting to your Inner Child: - Recovery of Your Inner Child - The Power of Your Other Hand, A Course in Channeling the Inner Wisdom of the Right Brain There are also many resources on her website - http://www.luciac.com/
12.01.2022 Yes this really resonates for me today.

11.01.2022 This is so relevant
08.01.2022 Love this idea. But guess it's harder to do up here in the hills as we often can't see neighbours from our driveways.
07.01.2022 This article is about our kids but it equally applies to us adults. It explains why no touch rules and distancing can be so hard on us.
05.01.2022 So important for couples
03.01.2022 I've been supporting a lot of people on their grief journey lately. This seems so relevant. It also mentions all the grief we are all experiencing due to the Covid19 situation.
02.01.2022 ATTN: EXCLUSIVE: The Black Eyed Peas just decided the world needs the song "Where is the Love?" again. Like ATTN: on Facebook.
01.01.2022 I just came across this diagram and thought it was spot on. I recognise that I was in fear zone for a while there but feel I've moved on from there. Love how this shows the positive possibilities for our own personal growth. A work in progress for me. On reflection, I do realise it's not just this simple. you can be in all 3 at once. At first I was mostly in fear but some in the others. Now less fear more in the others. But it can also move back and forth depending on the day. I love the complexity of being human
