Everyone has to start somewhere and we know all too well how daunting a process that can be. With encouragement and guidance, we can help you on your running journey. 10.01.2022 LET’S TALK WOMEN AND #menstrualcycle This has come up conversation with many of you over the last couple of months. There’s still some hesitation or ounce of reservation when women talk about their #period or #cycle and sharing where they are with their coach or fellow female #athletes . Firstly, the more open and honest we are with each other, the better the athlete. We’re all #women here. Who understands you better?!... THE BIG QUESTION.... HOW DOES MY CYCLE IMPACT MY TRAINING AND PERFORMANCE In a natural menstrual cycle, it can have huge implications. Understanding where you can train hard or race for best performance and where to back off, rest or train easy or simply #carbohydrate load is down to you and your coach harnessing the art. For the recreational runner, it could be as simple as listening to your body - train at higher intensities when you feel good and back off when you don’t. However if you’re formulated, don’t like to experiment with your own body and would rather level up your next training goal from the get go, then give us a DM. 04.01.2022 A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS from all of us at @runlikeagirlaustralia This might not be all of us from 2020, but I’m sure they all agree that we’ve been apart of something amazing through some genuinely hard times. ... We’ve always got each other, building one another up and looking forward to the next session where we can banter and run! You’ve all stayed committed in your own way, whether that’s by adjusting your goals or training style and that’s allows you to continue to enjoy running. During #covid_19 we held our on virtual running series in the first lockdown. We had monthly challenge after challenge, mostly for #shitsandgiggles , but it got us all out there when motivation lacked. We took on a new coach in @c.r.smith1984 who came to RLAG 2 years ago as a new runner herself. She’s almost finished her Level 2 Advance coaching course with @athleticsaustralia @athleticsvictoria and the marvelous @crosbietim . We took part in @vivaphysio #milesforminds campaign to raise money for mental health prevention. We @danni10101 @renee.quayle.9 @jendelightful @c.r.smith1984 @tamlyntunley couldn’t be prouder of the team for what they’ve achieved and we’re super pumped for all the events 2021 has in store for us!
