24.01.2022 Studio Corner I This is my little space today; where I’m doing some dreaming and planning. It’s been a busy few months for me away from my studio and it’s so lovely to back today.... My beautiful Sis, Dale and I opened a homewares store in our little town of Yandina @tede.co AND Along with two of my gorgeous friends, Amanda and Naomi, have launched an exciting event for 2021 @cowgirlsgathering I’m feeling so grateful and in awe of what we have created. 21.01.2022 I’ve been having some fun playing around with this series of prints. They are in various sizes and I wanted to create a collage with them, so you can sit them together, either framed or unframed. A few of them are up in my Etsy store and I will offer a package price ...as soon as I work out how DM me if you are interested... As a side note.... Ive made the choice to hold shipping to the US right now due to COVID as I don’t want to disappoint you with lengthy delays. If you would still like one (or the series) I shall pop it aside for you until I can safely ship them. Trace #runningcreekranchstudio

21.01.2022 You know those little important bits that grab your eye? I gotta say I just love them. Seeing that little detail in an image is something that really gets me in; has me intrigued and wanting to know more. In this sketch, it’s the combo of the chaps fringing and the horses tail. I wanted to recreate that feeling of energy that was happening in the stop.... This one was created from an awesome photo by Darrell Dodds. #runningcreekranchstudio @ North Arm, Queensland, Australia

21.01.2022 Watercolour is one of the oldest painting methods; think cave paintings in prehistoric art! It would have been charcoal, ochres or natural pigments mixed with water. Now we have fancy paints and get to use a huge range of colours, but somehow I just love the simple schemes the most.... This is a snippet from a recent commission and I was in luck as he was a stunning Grey. Thanks to my amazing clients for trusting me to do what I love and paint your horses #runningcreekranchstudio

18.01.2022 Ive been a little quieter here and in the studio; simply spending time with my family and finding peace in the quiet moments. Cooking, in the garden, time with the animals....making sure we are all fed and watered In amongst this I had the opportunity of doing this little commission piece for an Aussie Gal. It’s a sketch of her Dad, doing his thing.... She wanted it for her Mum. Her family. So from my family in Australia to you and yours, wherever you may be; we are thinking of you #runningcreekranchstudio

17.01.2022 Cowgirl Studies in the studio. This is Dawn; she is one heck of a horsewoman. She starts all of her horses, competes at Impact Of The Horse and can ride like crazy. This girl is strong, funny, gorgeous and generous. She plays full out at life.... Thanks Dawn for modelling my friend, And @ajloy for another brilliant reference photo. 10.01.2022 I got to go behind the scenes at a photo shoot last week. We had been laughing about getting the shot of the day and I’m pretty sure if there is a photo with a mane and tail flowing then I will consider that to be the one! This is a little study I did of Red using my my new favourite Conte crayon. ... Take a peak over at @picture.the.moment to see official photos of Red in action. @miss_naomi_lee your boy is one handsome stallion. #runningcreekranchstudio

09.01.2022 Im sitting here in the studio trying to come up with a title for this charcoal piece. ‘Stillness’ comes to mind as I’m currently reading the book Stillness is the Key by Ryan Holiday. The timing of this book and it’s wisdom is absolutely perfect with all that is currently happening in our world.... I’m thinking of you my friends, in the USA, Europe and here at home. Love from me in Australia Thanks to @alexcallaghanphoto for the brilliant reference photo of @westdesperado I love your work ladies!

08.01.2022 This little watercolour horse portrait is called Love Greys cause really what’s not to love about a grey! He’s in store at @tede.co in Yandina, so if you happen to be in the area please pop in and say hi to him (and me) Trace xx... #runningcreekranchstudio

06.01.2022 January 2020 I don’t have the words to express how sad I am for the fires that are spreading here in Australia. The communities, friends, family, their homes, their lives. This beautiful land, the wildlife, this county, are suffering.... I’m asking myself....what is the one thing that I can do to help? To make a change here in my life, now, that will help our climate and our world. I see how we blame, we think we don’t know, we are too insignificant, too small to make a difference. Folks will have more skill, knowledge, persuasion and power than I do. Yet, I will do what I can now, in my life, to make change. I invite you to look at what your one thing, one step, one action may be? Please share it with me or share this message if you feel to. Trace #runningcreekranchstudio

03.01.2022 It’s been commission season around here! So wonderful to be a part of other families gift giving; this one from a mother to her daughter who happens to be a talented show jumper. Thanks to the team @yandina_artframing ... for doing another fabulous job framing these pieces. #runningcreekranchstudio

This is taken from a watercolour of our classic Aussie Saddle.... Growing up, my version had a mustard wool underside. I actually only ever remember seeing blue or mustard wool. Did anyone have a different colour? These saddles bring back so many fabulous memories from my past of riding with my best friend, Deb and my horse Cascade If you fancy just buying the print, just send me a DM and I can organise it for you. Print is valued at $55 Link to the store is in my bio. Hope you have a happy and safe weekend friends..... #runningcreekranchstudio

02.01.2022 We don’t know what we don’t know I love that there is so many layers to this. Learning, progressing, getting frustrated and curious, the desire to do better. ... For me, it’s about aiming to show up with a beginners mind. Art and Horses ....same same. This watercolour reminds me of this. I painted it 18 months ago and my process may have changed, yet I still love everything about this piece. It’s one of my favourites and inspired by my own fabulous saddle. I’m not sure if I’m ready to part with the original watercolour just yet but I do have some prints available. Please just shoot me a DM if you are interested and I can give you info on sizes and pricing. To my collectors and friends in the USA, I’m afraid I’m still hanging off from shipping internationally as the delivery times are way too long #runningcreekranchstudio

02.01.2022 Art | Horses | Life I’m so often stopped with amazement at the link between creating art, finding the togetherness with my horses and living this life. The lessons seem to be all intertwined; wonderful, painful & often repeated.... As my art and voice grows stronger, I would like share what I notice and celebrate what I learn. In the mean time this is a snippet of a piece I have on the easel. It’s my first real hit out at oil painting and I was guided through it by the talented artist and teacher @jessica_leclerc at a recent workshop. Huge thanks to Jess and the amazing women I learnt alongside. The reference photo is by @picture.the.moment . Thankyou Averil your work is simply gorgeous. #runningcreekranchstudio

01.01.2022 ‘Starting’ This one is from a series of photos by @ajloy taken at a colt starting. It’s also me starting this year with some new materials and approach. ... I love that feeling of a new year, a fresh start. My aim is I will remember that each artwork, ride and day can have the freshness of new, while I bring along the experience from the past; a win win. #runningcreekranchstudio
