What an amazing Trek family we have, all the committee members & trekkers that pull...ed together & worked as a team We were also blown away by all the offers of help on trek by trekkers from putting together school show bags, checkpoints, extra photographers, church & just general things that help us so much with the daily running of the event, so thanks again Ps. 04.01.2022 Will be 40 years in a couple of weeks that Orange locals Tom Rabold and his mate Barry Parsons borrowed a rolled 302 Cobra number 221 from the Watson family ,an...d on a shoestring budget Repaired,gutted put in a rollcage out of a torana.Borrowed a motor from another local John Zelukovic ,Borrowed a diff and gearbox ,Some Red stripes and 35 on the doors and roof and as you could back in 1979 start 63 on the grid and take on Mt Panorama As promised after the race Cobra 221 was put back together blue stripes and all and used as the Watson's family car ,even used to tow their boat and just to make this story even better 40 year's on they still have it. Footage is of Tom and Barry's honour lap at last year's Bathurst in a Tribute to Cobra 221 called "Millie " and as you can see by the smiles on their faces that lap 40 years later PRICELESS See more
