15.01.2022 We saw a local mountain goat, the unofficial Mayor of Dunkeld and race director of Peaks & Trails Derek Prentice run in the 21km event over the weekend. 12.01.2022 RTG 24.5.20 Announcement: Covid-19 Due to the recent Government announcement against non-essential, organised public gatherings of more than 500 people, we, the Run the Gap Committee, regret to share the news that the 2020 event will not be going ahead as planned on the 24 May. This decision, with respect of everyone involved, was made after careful consideration around the management of numbers, Early bird registrations due to close early April, plus risk factors vs the heal...th and safety of all who attend. We understand the impacts of our decision will have a flow on effect, particularly for those of you who train for this, and each and every one of you who supports the event, however our top priority is the health and safety of all involved. Being a NFP (not for profit) fundraiser event, for those who have already registered in the Earlybird timeframe, we will work to support you with a 100% auto transfer for all current registrations to go directly into next year's event, including any pre-purchased 2XU technical tees (rebranded 2021). As this is a rapidly evolving situation, we ask that all participants please be patient as we work through the finer details and website update. We thank our team of volunteers for their work to date in preparation for the event and look forward to bringing you another great Grampians event on May 23 2021.
