24.01.2022 Super foggy start to the long run, exploring new routes (16/20/25/30/40k options thanks route master Bipro) from Kyeemagh Cooks carpark out & back along Cooks River & also parts of Brighton Le Sands. Cool lil wooden bridges, golf courses, big vege patches, lots of chatter & trying various nutrition. The sun came out for post run milk shakes, bacon & egg rolls and dip in the ocean. 24.01.2022 Brilliant SATURDAY blue sky morning, terrific turn out everyone waves one and two, of packs of 20 at different start times . Great to see more peeps out for the long runs lets keep this momentum growing . The new centennial to the bay run loop was about 25.5k, plus variations to city & back . Long runs today ranging from 7k to 42k. And a few in the Blue Mts too. Remember to have pre long run water & brekkie, and take some gels / fuel with you . 24.01.2022 Amazing night at the track interclub 5k/10k time trial, the first one back since March. It had been stormy weather so we werent expecting many, but weather improved and was a bigger turn out than expected. Everyone warmed up well, good social distancing, quick briefing & paid our respects to the late Steve Garamy. Most did the 5k so werent on the track for long (many under 20minutes and everyone except a few 10k ers done under 30mins), runners spread out, record of attendan...ce, cool down and home. Thanks @patmacyep @imovephysiotherapy for fabulous drills and @rejoovrunners & @nicksrunclub for hosting. Thanks @athleticsnsw / @run_nsw for the clock. There will be pre-registration for the next TT and waves according to target time ~Thursday 13th August 6.20pm 5k <20mins. 6.45 5k >20mins / 10k. This is a fun, casual, training time trial for all levels & track etiquette. It can be cancelled last minute pending restrictions. Pyrmont, Sydney Harbour, Fig Tree, Tarban Creek, Gladesville, Ironcove & Anzac Bridges. Starting & finishing at Wentworth park next to the Fishmarkets for a fishy ending. 08.01.2022 It was an epic Friday for Lis & team of supporters, congratulations @lisa_wholelifenutrition on your 115k virtual Last One Standing event!! Breaking new ground beyond 60k, smashing her 100k goal and keeping on going as long as she could, achieving the true essence of LOS. Her nutritionist prowess certainly paid off too. Initially there was disappointment of QLD border closing off event access but Lisa and #1 @grant_shermanator turned this into a remarkable local loop where so... many could cheer and join in for 1,2,3,4,5 or 6 laps of her 17 x 6.8k laps. Big kudos to everyone involved, this was a shining light in covid times. It was Lisa’s first event since pre-covid Bondi Bluewater Challenge in Feb and Freshwater Barney Mullins swim March. Monitoring your body & sessions, getting the good mix, of intensity and long runs. Periodisation, (if youre not sure how to do this, let G know, this is where online programming comes in). ... 2. Numbers are handy, but always use your brain to integrate information - scan your body and psych, both will let you know if youre over doing it. 3. Endurance runners, we need to be able to back up day to day, alternating harder days with easy days. We need volume, some intensity days and sufficient recovery. 4. Monitoring our training very helpful with the talk test, EG hard speed reps like the 2minuters today - cant talk. Tuesday tempo / Threshold / harder long run, a few words, but not a conversation. Easy long run conversational. 5. We are endurance runners, so we need strength work to compliment our running but not to make us sore otherwise we cant run properly. 6. Intensity and volume builds vo2 max. 7. Personalise your heart rate zones because for example for a group of 45 year olds heart rate max can vary by 40 beats a minute which is a lot!! 06.01.2022 Terrific event yesterday, the @barecreektrailrun 12k & 20k with a thigh deep river crossing & tough hills. They managed the numbers and distancing really well. Rejoovers happy for another event to go ahead, here’s some of their highlights : 20k @elayneforbes 6th female overall and 2nd in age group, enjoyed the course. @leslmason fabulous run, going hard down hill, had a fall at 17k, aids station cleaned out abrasions then went on to finish strong. Will use this run to... launch into Stromlo 50k in 2/52. @bagnalldarren happy with sub 2hr, loved the event even with a sore quad, backing up after last weeks 3 Bridges half. 12k Susan 1min course Pb on a tough, challenging course. @nicol_katzy felt so good finishing this tough course, loved that son Ari happy to do these events too, part of a great community! @aarikatz tough trails, mud & hills, good fun, great weather. #barecreektrailrun #trailrunners #rejoovrunners

04.01.2022 Top Blokes Foundation is an organisation dedicated to supporting young male health and wellbeing. They provide mentoring programs for males aged between 10-24. They are currently running a Virtual Fun Run whereby you sign up and create a fundraising page or group and ask your friends, family and the rest of your networks to donate to your page.
