25.01.2022 The Maze opens this weekend (10am) & the weather looks to be perfect! The Maze and veges have been a lot slower this year due to the cold weather - maize still to reach maximum height but it is perfect for kids and those who have a slight maze phobia issues. These beans were all hand weeded this morning - a mammoth task!

24.01.2022 Rupertswood Farm will be heading to Agfest this week. Please visit us to see our new range of homewares and maze merch. **** Site M111, Main Street (up near the sheep dogs) #agfest #coco_and_pencil #robertlanghamupholstery ... #rupertswoodfarm #blockprinting See more

24.01.2022 Dogs are welcome in the Crop Maze this Saturday from 2pm! Pls have your pooch on a lead and bring your doggy bags with you. We look forward to this very popular Maze event (on Saturday afternoon only)

23.01.2022 Hagley Farm School Food Van (Sixth Avenue, 613) is all set for Agfest! Pls support all these wonderful commmnity vans, if fortunate enough to visit this year.

22.01.2022 With all this self-isolating, I have finally managed to get my online shop up and running YEAH! This Rupertswood Farm jigsaw is from a photo that I took from our cattle yards & overlooks the Western Tiers. The other (with sheep) overlooks Quamby Estate and is taken from our shearing shed. Locally made in Westbury and traditionally cut, jigsaw stock is limited & can be purchased online at our new farm shop https://www.rupertswoodfarm.com.au/shop/. The first 20 online orders (with any purchases over $50) will also receive our 2020 Merino Tea Towel (linen/cotton).

22.01.2022 Another perfect morning at the Crop Maze!

20.01.2022 The Crop Maze will be closed, effective immediately. We know it is not a high risk event, but it does not seem right to continue to operate in the current climate and we would not like to increase the risk of virus exposure to our small community, let alone Northern Tasmania. We have been lucky with the weather and to be open for a short time, so it seems probably best to sign off earlier rather than later. We apologise for an any inconvenience and hope you understand. We love our Crop Maze, and especially enjoy having visitors to our beautiful farm, so we will be back next year!

19.01.2022 Rupertswood Doorstops - the perfect Mother’s Day Gift. My block-printed fabric filled with Rupertswood barley and lavender (just harvested). Made in Launceston & available at Agfest only.

17.01.2022 Yesterday we finished pulling down the Crop Maze Tower, a bit sad to see it go especially as the Crop Maze continues to look better each day. On a positive, we have an incredible amount of veges at the Maze, which has kept us very busy as we hand pick and preserve. Kids are right into it...well, sort of.

17.01.2022 Perfect conditions to walk the Crop Maze today!

14.01.2022 Struggling with the 'Rupertswood Farm & Western Tiers' jigsaw? Well, you are definately not alone! It is seriously VERY, VERY difficult, however, I have heard reports that a few people have had success and finally finished it. Would love to see some photos.

13.01.2022 The Gent family travelled from Circular Head yesterday and shared their active watch output with us. I think their family worked in teams, which is a great way to do it if there are a few of you.

13.01.2022 Thanks to all who came yesterday. It appears that this year’s maze is quite difficult, although one family found everything in 66mins (2.52km for both mazes), which was impressive! Rowan’s new hay bale structure, that he built late Friday night, has been very popular.

12.01.2022 Very valid point, especially as in NSW the Easter Show crowds were just massive. Huge amount of work put into AGFEST by not only the AGFEST committee but all involved, especially by unpaid volunteers, ie community groups who attend this event as their main annual fundraiser. It takes not weeks, but months and months of preparation, so we need to numbers through the gates to get a financial return for our efforts.

11.01.2022 The Crop Maze is now closed and ready for harvest. Big thanks to everyone who visited, it was great to have so much support for our unique event. Also to those who worked and helped us pull it together, our food suppliers, thank you, and to Mazescape for developing it. See you next year...or, at AGFEST in May as we will have an exhibitor stall there. Thanks again!!

09.01.2022 We cut the Crop Maze using our tractor's GPS system. Mazescape prepare the data file in the UK, it is then emailed to me and, with some data manipulation from mapping experts, we are then able to upload it straight into our Trimble system. Rowan then simply takes the GPS off the tractor and installs it onto the mower stand he built and mows by following the line on the screen. It takes around 3 hours to cut the Maze and 2 hrs to retrim it. These picture show him preparing the mower and the screen he follows. In theory, it all sounds quite simple but can get a little tricky with system upgrades etc so we are very lucky to have some wonderful mapping/GPS experts who can help us out last minute if we run into problems.

03.01.2022 Wonderful day at the Crop Maze today! After a chilly start, it ended up a magnificent autumn day. Great to see Aaden and Cheryl Colbeck from Launceston who have visited our Crop Mazes annually since 2013 (when Aaden was in a pram)!

02.01.2022 After 2 inches of rain the Maze is all washed, sparkling clean and very tall! The Maze is open all this long weekend from 10am onwards. Don't forget we also have an excellent food van on site which sells a selection of local produce, such as pulled pork rolls, lamb sausages and lemon curd icecream!
