24.01.2022 AFL update for NAB AFL Auskick: COVID-19 Here's a quick update from the AFL... **********... The health and safety of our football community participants, players, umpires, volunteers and fans are paramount. The AFL is closely monitoring the situation with respect to COVID-19 and it is important that any information you receive with respect to COVID-19 or any other infectious illness comes from a reputable source. We are regularly consulting with the Australian Government, the World Health Organisation and the AFL’s Chief Medical Officers on the best advice for our football community. The health and safety of participants, players, umpires and volunteers underpin our ability to conduct matches and sessions that are so loved by our communities, supporters and members. Given COVID-19 remains a situation with the potential to change rapidly, the AFL will continue to work with relevant authorities and will update the football communities as new information comes to hand. Regards, AFL ********** In short, we're currently scheduled to start our Auskick season on Saturday 18 April but will let you know if this changes.
24.01.2022 We took a group of 10 Auskickers to the 'G on Friday 13 Septmber to play at halftime during the semi-final game between the Cats and Eagles.
23.01.2022 Auskick is back on Saturday at 9am! It will look slightly different thoughwe hope to be back to our usual setup but for this weekend the following changes are required based on collective AFL, Rupo and Salesian requirements: - Each participant can be accompanied by 1 parent or guardian to limit numbers ... - All attendees must check in using the QR code’s available as you enter the ground and please observe usual social distancing requirements - There will be no marquee, no coffee van and no raffle this week - No start or end of session group huddle this week. All Auskickers should go direct to their level groups upon arrival and work with their coaches (Kinder & Prep with coach Matt, Grade One with Coach Kathryn and Ben, Grade Two and above with Coach Stu!) - Last but not least, with no huddles or raffle we will run the session from 9-10am to ensure the kids stay engaged I will also be sending this information to parents/guardians via email later tonight. Looking forward to seeing you all and if you have any questions on the day, please feel free to ask me or any of the Auskick team. Thanks, Daz
23.01.2022 What a great day! The weather was perfect and we had a great turnout for our presentations today. Thanks again to all the kids and parents for getting along to support Rupo Auskick this year.... We hope to see you all back here next year. Registrations will open in September and the 2020 season will commence next April. Thanks to the Club and our awesome Coaches and volunteers for your outstanding efforts. Auskick doesn't happen without you! Running the program over the past two years and seeing our (and your) kids have fun and progress their skills has been a real buzz for Zam and me. Our boys are getting older and we're moving on to junior footy next year, so we look forward to handing over to a bunch of new volunteers to continue the great community spirit. Enjoy the below photos!!!
21.01.2022 CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS! Our first session is scheduled to kick off at 9am on Saturday 18 April, and we're looking for a bunch of community-minded volunteers to help run our awesome program. We need a Centre Coordinator, a Treasurer, a Marquee Manager and a couple of coaches.... The role of Coordinator and Treasurer/Marquee Manager has been covered by Adam and Zamara Giles for the past two years. But their two boys are moving on from Auskick so they'll be handing over the reins. But don't panic, if you're interested in helping to lead Sunbury's biggest Auskick Centre (150 kids last year), they'll be on hand to guide you through the preparation for our 2020 season and help set up the first few sessions so we have a smooth transition. Oh, and don't forget, Rupo Junior Footy Club is on hand to ensure you're fully supported. Shoot us a message if you'd like to know more or to register your interest. If you'd like to help, but may not be able to commit to being available for every session due to work and family events, then join in when you can on-field by helping our coaches deliver activities. Off field, you can help by serving on the marquee during the season or wielding the tongs on our BBQ to refuel our Auskickers after the session. Meanwhile, here's a quick rundown of each role: COORDINATOR - https://play.afl/auskick/coordinators COACH - https://play.afl/auskick/coaches TREASURER - Fundraising, accounting and record-keeping MARQUEE MANAGER - Catering, food safety, stock control and volunteer roster management
21.01.2022 Are we there yet? Not quite. But the wheels are turning. Here's the latest update from AFL HQ... ***************************... Thanks again for your continued patience and support as we work through the COVID-19 situation. At this stage, we're still working to confirm a date for Auskick Return to play within Victoria. We are working closely with the Victorian Government on when this will be able to occur, but please know in the background we are setting up all requirements to push forward once we get this confirmed. This includes Auskick Return to Play Guidelines and Protocols. *************************** Until then, stay healthy and safe! Rupo Auskick

Other important info: - If you get a spot, you'll need to be at the MCG by 6:10pm. - The halftime game will be at around 9:30pm. - 1 ticket per participant and 1 for an accompanying adult - Additional tickets should be available (info to come once we've finalised the list) We'll be submitting the list this Friday, so please register before then and let us know if you're interested in participating. 14.01.2022 We hope you’ve all had a happy and safe Christmas and look forward to a great new year!
13.01.2022 This is a message for our 2019 grade 2+ kids. I've received an offer from the AFL to field a team of 20 at this Friday's game between Geelong and West Coast at the MCG. The catch is we need to field 20 players. If we can't field 20 they will offer the slot to another club. If that club can't field a full 20 then we may be offered a joint game (e.g. 10v10). ... There's no guarantees, but if you could confirm your interest ASAP I'll follow up and let you know the outcome. Kids will receive a ticket for an accompanying parent and additional tickets may be available to order. I'll confirm all that if we make the numbers. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers, Adam Giles Coordinator Rupo Auskick

10.01.2022 Hope you're all well and staying sane! The AFL has recently announced plans for the return of community football. Stage 1 entails the commencement of training in small groups from 25 May. As Auskick does not require training and most centres have a large number of participants, Auskick will not return back at stage 1. We remain hopeful that Auskick will be able to return in future stages, later this year.... Until then, stay safe! https://www.afl.com.au//covid-19/faqs/school-auskick-return
04.01.2022 It's never too early to sign up!
