25.01.2022 Santa is on his way!! This year Santa will vist Curlwaa in the Fire Truck on Monday the 16th of December. This year Santa is going to be visiting four pre determined locations and anyone wishing to see him can some to the spot nearest them or the spot which is the most convienient. This is different to other years but stopping at these stops means it it will be safer for everyone and it also means Santa will see everyone before bed time :) Santas helpers will set up a festi...ve chair for Santa at each spot so you will know where to meet and then santa can also pose for photos and chat with the kdis. Santa will be stopping at the following locations at the following times Williamsville Road 6.05pm Watmuff Oval 6.20pm Murray Road 6.50pm Corner of Channel and Church Road 7.15pm Please See Sue at McKenzies garage to put your childs name down and sign off for them ro recieve some lollies. 25.01.2022 Hi everyone- just a reminder that fire season started on the 1st of October so fire permits are in place again. Please call fire control on 5024 422 and chat to Sarah to get any permits sorted. Have a safe and enjoyable long weekend!

23.01.2022 Rural Fire Service Lower Western wishes to advise of a fire burning in remote Mallee scrub, north of Dareton/Coomealla and east of the Pooncarie road. We advise... the public that this fire currently poses no threats. The fire is being monitored, but not actively fought as a number of strategic fire breaks are in place and low fuel loads will inhibit spread. See more

17.01.2022 Santas helpers have set up all his stops for tonight ! Santa’s stop at Murray Road can be found just off the highway in what Santa’s helpers are hoping will be a little bit of shade away from any snakes And the Williamsville Road stop is under the trees just off the road inside the Bairds driveway. ... The oval stop and the church/bamboo road stop will be visible when you pull up can’t wait to see everyone tonight ! Make sure you bring a cold drink to keep cool.

13.01.2022 Hi everyone! Friendly reminder that the Brigade AGM will be held Next Monday the 17th from 6pm- come along and see how the brigade is run and join us for a BBQ tea afterwards.

12.01.2022 Yesterday, 14 strike team members returned home whilst another 9 departed, for a 5-day deployment in Tumut. Crews spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday working in e...xtremely difficult conditions extinguishing spot fires and undertaking property protection in and around the township of Batlow. Thanks again to those that have made themselves available to assist, and to their family’s’ and employers for their ongoing support. 11.01.2022 TOTAL FIRE BAN: Tomorrow, Thursday 21st November (00:01hrs > 23:59hrs) has been declared a day of Total Fire Ban for numerous areas of Southern NSW, including t...he Lower Western Zone (Wentworth and Balranald Shires), with SEVERE Fire Danger predicted. All fire permits are suspended for tomorrow (21st), no new fires are to be lit, and all current fires are to be extinguished by 1159Hrs TODAY (20th). All fires without a fire agency in attendance are to be reported to Triple Zero (000) immediately!! See more

08.01.2022 Santa’s helpers will be setting up a special photo spot at each stop for the Curlwaa Santa run tomorrow. Grown ups have you cameras ready - Santa will take a seat and the kids can put in their requests and have a photo with Santa in front of the chimney. Can’t wait to see you all.

Thank you to the brigade members who helped out Santa and thank you to everyone who kindly donated to the brigade tin at McKenzies. And Finally a thank you to Santa’s helper Sue at the garage for rounding everyone up every year. Have a very merry Christmas and happy and safe new year everyone!

04.01.2022 This morning a further contingent of nine (9) Lower Western Zone members from Ellerslie, Buronga Rural Fire Brigade, Rural Fire Service - Curlwaa, Dareton and S...cotia Rural Fire Brigades flew out of Mildura, to support the ongoing operations in Northern NSW. These members will be deployed for 5 days, returning Sunday (24th). We wish them all the very best and thank both their employers and families for their ongoing support.
