22.01.2022 RETIREMENT NOTICE The team at the Rural Medical Clinic would like to announce the retirement of Dr. Cam Henderson. Cam finished with the practice on t...he 2ndJuly 2020. We want to thank Cam for his amazing work over the past four decades and we wish him all the best with his future endeavours! If you are a patient of Cam’s, please don’t hesitate to call the surgery on (02) 67851095. We are working to ensure the disruption is minimal. We’re sure another of our friendly clinical team will be able to continue the high quality of care that you are used to. 17.01.2022 It's Christmas Party time! After a hard year for all, the team is taking a well earned break this Friday 18th for our annual Christmas Party. Laverty and the RMC will unfortunately be closed for the day as a result but we will be back to normal Monday 21st. For urgent matters on the day, please go directly to the Manilla Hospital. We want to thank all of our team for the hard work and dedication throughout the year and we want to thank you for your support and understanding!

17.01.2022 Stay-at-home orders are in place from 6pm tonight for all people in the Greater Sydney area until midnight on Friday 9th July 2021. If you have been to the G...reater Sydney area (which includes the Central Coast, Blue Mountains and Wollongong), on or after June 21 you should follow stay-at-home orders for a period of 14 days after leaving Greater Sydney. 12.01.2022 PRIORITY ANNOUNCEMENT: Appointment availability update. We urge you to please share this information with your friend and family. Firstly, we'd like to thank you all for your overwhelming support. We appreciate it immensely and are working hard to try service everyone's needs. ... Due to doctor shortages across the region, we have seen a dramatic increase in appointment wait times within our own surgery. This notice is to inform our patients that we are, as of today, currently booked out until 27 NOVEMBER 2020 for non-urgent appointments. Whilst we still have urgent appointments available each day, though not everyone that calls will be given an appointment. Each request will be triaged by our clinical team and provided an appointment on basis of urgency. We ask that you do not be offended if we are unable to provide an appointment to you on the day. Please keep this in mind as we move into the Christmas season, especially those that require scripts, and remember that for a service to be able to be bulk billed, you must make an appointment or a private fee may be applicable. We thank you for your understanding and patience. We are working to improve this situation as best we can and will provide further updates as time progresses.

08.01.2022 With the recent loosening restrictions and a downgrade in public health system to a green alert, we're happy to say that we too a returning to a more "normal" business operation. Starting Monday 30th November our front door will no longer be locked at all times. We still have a maximum capacity of 8 people in our waiting room so we will lock the door once we reach capacity. If the door is locked, please follow the normal procedure of using the doorbell. Additionally, those ...with acute respiratory symptoms like coughs, fevers, runny nose, etc. will still be required to call to make, and before attending, any appointments. Telehealth is still available for those it is deemed appropriate for. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the surgery during normal business hours.

In line with the latest ATAGI advice (found here: https://www.health.gov.au//statement-in-response-to-latest), AstraZeneca is no longer recommended for those aged 50 years and older. Instead, they have raised it to 60 years and older. ... If you are 59 years or younger it is now advised that you receive the Pfizer vaccine. Please follow the steps below to determine where and which vaccine you should receive. The AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine will be available to patients through Rural Medical Clinic who are eligible in Phase 1B from the 21st June 2021. If you are unsure or have any questions, feel free to ask for an appointment with one of our friendly GPs prior to booking your vaccination. Alternatively, visit Australian Government Department of Health www.health.gov.au/covid19-vaccines or call the National coronavirus and COVID-19 vaccine helpline on 1800 020 080. Prior to booking please check your eligibility, or to locate a Pfizer clinic, please go to https://covid-vaccine.healthdirect.gov.au/eligibility. To register your interest, please call the clinic between 10am-2pm on 02 6785 1095 to book your vaccintation or to be placed on our vaccine waiting list for our next clinic. We will be scheduling routine clinics to complete your vaccinations, depending on demand.

07.01.2022 We currently have a few staff on sick leave. We apologise for ay inconvenience caused to our patients, rescheduling has been quite a busy job. We hope the staff will be back on deck soon, but we are also grateful that they stay at home when unwell to keep from spreading illness to others.

02.01.2022 Masks... they are a contentious issue, but they are now being recommended to reduce the spread of COVID 19. Masks are mandatory in Victoria and all NSW hospital staff are now required to wear masks when caring for patients. During the coming week, our staff will start wearing masks. Patients will be encouraged to bring in their own masks for face to face consultations. Remember, telehealth consultations are available. As always, we ask patients to notify staff at the time of booking if they have any flu like symptoms or have been in a COVID 19 hotspot. At Rural Medical Clinic, it's our mission to offer a sustainable medical workforce to meet the healthcare needs of the community. Keeping our staff healthy is key to providing healthcare for the Manilla community throughout this challenging time. We thank you in advance for your support.

We have an internal waiting room capacity of 8 people so please wait patiently for someone to answer the door. If you would prefer to wait in your car - please call the surgery to alert us of your arrival and we will call you in when the doctor is available to see you. 2. NO MASK = NO ENTRY: As per the NSW Health and N...SW Police directives, masks are now mandatory. If you are unable to wear a mask due to medical exemption, please ensure you have a copy of your exemption letter with you. 3. TELEHEALTH CONSULTS STILL AVAILABLE: Telehealth appointments are still available to those eligible. If you are experiencing any cold/flu symptoms, we request that you contact the surgery to arrange a telehealth (phone/video) consult or present to your local hospital. 4. QUESTIONS: If you have any concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to contact the surgery.
