24.01.2022 Wonder how many minutes it would be for Cairns region...? ?
24.01.2022 We al need to really RECYCLE...
22.01.2022 The article below published last week is a great example of how the linear economy (buy, use, bin, bury, repeat) is still the predominant model in Australia. The fact that cross border waste disposal is even 'a thing' illustrates a clear lack of national coordination.
22.01.2022 A great OP by Peter Allan, very much agree kerbside collection can be much improved and is the logical place for the sorting process to begin. The thought of m...ore than two bins seems to be painted as mind-boggling, but like a lot of Europe, it's likely we're clever enough to figure them out! If there is something that deserves emphasis it is the current lack of capacity for any recycling whatsoever (not just sorting). Scott Morrison's assertion that nearly 90% of Australian plastic waste is going unrecycled is only partially to do with how it is collected and a lot more to with the hitherto almost total lack of investment in recycling infrastructure. 22.01.2022 Great explanation...
22.01.2022 #MINIWIZshare "Smart city is NOW, how Taiwanese technology turn sustainability and sharing economy SEXY?" In the event of CONNECT to the future hosted by TechOr...ange, our CEO Arthur Huang shared about how "Plastic Pollution needs a Smart Technology Solution today" and our #exchangebyMINIWIZ / #ROBINtrashbin with the audience in Taipei. It's a GREAT READ for Mandarin speakers thanks to TechOrange :) #MINIWIZ #PoweredByTrash #PollutionIntoSolution #SEXYtrash https://buzzorange.com//techorange-connect-to-the-future-/ See more
21.01.2022 nice example ... drink from bottle - recycle bottle to clothes - recycle clothes back to bottle - ... Add to it the use of renewable energy powering the recycling process ...
20.01.2022 We are proud to announce that finally here we go.... The first true plastics recycling plant in Cairns and I dare to say in FNQ. When we open, there will be no more collected PET bottles sent "down south" to "reprocessing" and / or " stockpiling " or end up in landfills ....
18.01.2022 $3 million for true Recycling - not collect to export - company .....that is the way to make true recycling work.... give financial incentive - grant - to local true recycling company What about QLD and specifically FNQ Government????
18.01.2022 We are doing our little part. How about you?
17.01.2022 The Trashpresso. What a great idea. The Trashpresso machine is the ultimate expression of sustainable upcycling. It is a mobile upcycling plant that can be transported in two shipping containers to its customers. Once there, it turns 50kg of plastic bottles an hour into a low-cost building material, using no water, and only solar power.
16.01.2022 Hi everyone, can anyone please explain to me how our legislative representatives could allow this to happen? Why would we throw almost $ 18 000 000 to Landfill???? Recyclable materials are money, not just paper or glass or plastics. In previous article from April it is said that only 20 000 tonnes cost Councils almost $ 2 million to put in to landfill. ... If we use the same ratio then 180 000 tonnes will cost almost $ 18 000 000 to burry in Landfill. So, we buy new resources and goods from China and pay for it, than we use it for a little bit, then we throw it to landfill and pay for it again? How about we really recycle the used plastics and make commodity (granules) from it, then sell those granules to manufacturers in Australia and make new bottles or clothes or roads .... Would that not be better???? See more
15.01.2022 This video is a little bit older, but it nicely summarise why we will use this new 3D batteries in our recycling project....
14.01.2022 Interesting article : https://theconversation.com/waste-not-want-not-morrison-gov
14.01.2022 7 tons of plastic on the Australias 7 Km long beach at Cape York .... We need to implement nation wide recycling policies ASAP or our kids will have no beach to go to....
14.01.2022 And some experts in Cairns told me : ...there is no market for PET recycled material. Where are you going to sell your pellets if we allow you to open recycling plant in Cairns? ...
13.01.2022 California made a law that in every PET bottle must contain min.15% of recycled material from 2022 and 25% by 2025... Why don't we make same law here?? https://resource-recycling.com//now-signed-into-law-calif/
12.01.2022 EU states would be obliged to recycle 90 per cent of plastic bottles by 2025, while producers would need to help cover the costs of waste management. There is a way to do it. We should make same law in Australia.
11.01.2022 She is correct I think. There is nothing wrong with plastics. Plastics are resources and should not be thrown away as garbage to landfills... Plastics should b...e RECYCLED. If in city lives 250,000 people and each use 1 PET bottle a day = 91,250,000 bottles / Year If each bottle is 20g = 1,825,000 Kg = 1,825 Ton / year = $1,825,000 ,- in value of processed material $ 1,825,000 go to Landfill each year .... makes one think .... 10.01.2022 Great Idea How to get where we need to.
10.01.2022 As I said before, we are very happy to be in contact with this company. The answer to Australias recycling crisis lies in decentralisation of the recycling process. It is nice to have recycling plant in Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne, but a lot of us live in rural and remote areas. We need to have the option to recycle too....
08.01.2022 Law to Recycle Plastic Water Bottles. What a great idea. . .
08.01.2022 Opening fourth PET recycling plant... well looks like the recycling is a good business after all .... :-) https://resource-recycling.com//carbonlite-starts-pelleti/
05.01.2022 Recycle Recycle Recycle ...
04.01.2022 Another great step in right direction.
