16.01.2022 Thanks to the generous support we received towards our Disaster Appeal earlier this year, we are able to help people just like Kaye. Having suffered two heart ...attacks, and a stroke during her life, Kaye was determined to beat the fire. She escaped to her nearest evacuation centre and was alerted by neighbours that her home survived, but the bushland around it was completely burnt. Her insurance didn’t cover the immense clean-up required, which is when she received financial help from the Salvos. 09.01.2022 Salvos across the country have been working hard to help Australians in need as the COVID-19 crisis has pushed so many into a state of emotional and financial h...ardship. Our local teams have assisted more than 40,000 people with emergency relief assistance between April and July. Our figures show that in July alone, of the people helped with emergency relief, 30 per cent were a direct result of the pandemic. As the fallout of the pandemic continues, we expect to see more people reach out for assistance.
