07.05.2022 Well slightly delayed but here is our update on the beginners classes for this year. We will be delaying them till after the Mothers Day Pottery Fair in May (probably late May). The general consensus is that masks will make the classes extremely unpleasant in the current weather in our shed. Ideally come May we will be able to proceed without masks, but if not, at least it will be more bearable by then. An email will be sent with the details of the course after the Mothers Day weekend, so if you are interested in hearing about them, and are not already on the list, please message us with your email and phone contact.

02.05.2022 2022 Classes Update! We know there are people out there awaiting news of our beginner classes which usually start in February, so - 1. At this stage we will have to wear masks to do the classes and in the current weather conditions this is not ideal, or for some, even possible... 2. The current Covid situation does make some understandably reluctant to attend meeting/classes at the moment 3. We run the risk having to cancel or delay classes in the event of lockdown etc and this is not ideal for students or their work One possible solution to deal with the above is to delay the classes until after the Mothers Day Weekend Fair in May. The weather will be kinder if masks are required, and ideally we will have a slightly more settled Covid situation to deal with. A final decision will be made at our meeting on Tuesday 1st of February and we appreciate everyones patience with the situation.

19.04.2022 Time for our Christmas break, we will be in touch about lessons next year, but approximate start date will be the 15th of February. For anyone interested in lessons, please don't comment here, you need to send a message to the page with your email address and contact number and we will add you to the list of interested people. Merry Christmas!

03.01.2022 Both kilns are pumping at the moment, Sandra's on the left is running hot full of glazed creations, and the club kiln on the right full of David and Kelly's bits is waiting its turn. Apparently turning both kilns on at the same time will create some sort of time continuum explosion and require the assistance of Dr Who, Captain Picard, Captain Janeway, Scotty and Spock* to restore the timeline, so it just has to wait . *It is entirely possible we have been binging SciFi here and this is a ridiculous exaggeration #ruralpottersfair #pottery #craft #kilns

03.01.2022 For those of you who haven't already guessed, the annual Rural Potter's Mother's Day Fair will not be on next weekend. 03.01.2022 Sneak Peeks from the event page for the Fair!

03.01.2022 For those of you interested our annual classes will commence mid to late February and will be held at the clubhouse in McMinns Lagoon on Tuesday nights. If you would like to register interest please send a message or call Sandra at the Arnhem Nursery (89881351). Finalised costs and dates will be advised in the first week of February.

02.01.2022 Exciting news - you may not have been aware, but as a rural community organisation, the Rural Potter's make the club kiln available for rural residents to use, and we have been fortunate to recently receive a grant for a brand new kiln. Thanks to some very hard work by Fiona Scott, there will soon be an end to 'hit it with a hammer' steps in the start up instructions! If you are interested in becoming a member there are also a few additional benefits involved, like access ...to club equipment, the option to hire a wheel, and discounted clay due to the association bulk buying to get wholesale prices. But possibly the greatest benefit is the weekly evening sessions at the club where, whoever can make it sit, work on some pieces (sometimes), enjoy a nibble and a cuppa, and have a chat. And now the photo's, at the moment we have this amazing work firing in the club (and Sandra's because there is so much of it) kiln. These creations are from the very talented people at the Merrepen Arts Centre. This is what it looks like before firing and glazing, and we can't wait to see the final product!

01.01.2022 Here is a little sneak peek at some of Sandra's finished pieces and work in progress for the Christmas fair.
