22.01.2022 Imagine happy hour on the deck of the carriage house watching the sun go down over the vines. Hopefully our planning approval for the chalets will be through in the next few weeks, so it could be you sitting on this deck in front of the dam enjoying the view.

14.01.2022 An omen??? My dog Harry was barking for about half an hour in the fields this morning. Normally I'd check it out to see if it's a kangaroo, as they can attack dogs if provoked. I had a long list of things to do before rushing out of the house so ignored him. With the car packed up, I drove through the front gate and standing in front of me was a stag- a deer with long antlers. Now deer are only farmed in Australia so this is quite surprising and the nearest deer farm is a lon...g way from here. I had heard of a legendary deer roaming the area but thought it was an urban myth. Well I have proof he exists now. You have to look carefully as he's quite camouflaged and Harry's barking frightened him off while I searched for my phone. I don't know if there is any meaning in sighting a deer, but given you don't normally find them in this area, I'm taking this as a sign of good things to come.

12.01.2022 When the Coles grocery delivery guy tells you that he's in front of a lion and you don't have a clue what he's talking about. Then you remember you have 2 lions on your property. The blue in the background is one of the many changes happening here at Ruse Estate. These changes are at the main house but we have also received planning approval for our chalets, so watch this space. And when you finally get to stay here, you too can have your groceries delivered. I was most impressed as we are in a rural area.

07.01.2022 Our first harvest experience. Very exciting

05.01.2022 How cute is this little guy? He's a phascogale and we are extremely privileged to have them on Ruse Estate. I love his feather duster tail. Phascogales are a threatened species and were almost extinct in south west Western Australia. We certainly won't be baiting any animals and will only use live traps on our land, as we don't want to risk the lives of our Phascogales, and other precious wildlife. Speaking of risk.... did you know that the male phascogale kills itself by it...s frenzied sex life? What a way to go! Check out this link for more information on this beautiful creature. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brush-tailed_phascogale
