18.01.2022 Great to join the Gippsland PHN team and local health providers to officially open the new HeadtoHelp Hub in Warragul today. The HeadtoHelp clinic will provide on-site mental health support and also connect to other mental health services in the region, including intensive mental health care or social supports, to ensure people get the help they need when they need it. The clinic will play a key role in supporting our GPs, emergency departments, and hospitals by providing ac...cessible mental health care in our communities. Locally in our region we have a HeadtoHelp satellite clinic in Leongatha at Leongatha Healthcare. To contact your nearest clinic visit HeadtoHelp Thank you again to all our local healthcare workers and providers who can to support to our community through these challenging times.

09.01.2022 The Regional Forestry Agreements took great thought, effort and political will throughout the Hawke, Keating and Howard years. Our people paid a great price to achieve consensus, in order to have a sustainable timber industry. There are those who have found ways to circumvent the RFAs, to the detriment of regional com-munities, and the Australian people. To close down our industry and import timber products abrogates our responsibility in two ways:... 1. We exploit other nations which do not have the environmental safeguards we do 2. We fail to become self-sufficient in managing this essential product Has COVID taught us nothing? It is time to take a step back and have a long hard look at what we are doing and what we are re-sponsible for. We have to look after ourselves because no one else will. This is simple but not easy. Regional communities need to be listened to because lip service will no longer cut it. We need to work with our indigenous forestry experts. We must invest ourselves in our timber industry communities, if not, who will? It will take brave, intelligent leaders to be honest, without regard for political consequences. Or have politicians just become lazy pandering to minorities with no skin in the game? May common sense prevail. This is a matter of survival, not ideological warfare. That’s just as I see it.

06.01.2022 The parents, carers and family of NDIS participants do a tremendous job in caring and advocating for their loved ones. This afternoon I caught up with Tona in Leongatha to discuss her experience with the NDIS and hear about some of the important support services provided by Amaze. If you, or your family, need assistance with any aspect of the NDIS please get in contact with my office, and I or my staff, can assist where we can. ... People with disabilities and their families deserve special care and consideration. They need all the support that is promised by the NDIS.
