21.01.2022 Have you always wondered how to make almond milk? Look no further with this easy to follow recipe from Honest to Goodness. INGREDIENTS: 1 cup raw almonds... 1 nut milk bag 3-4 cups filtered water METHOD 1. Place the almonds in a bowl and cover with water. Leave to soak for 12-24 hours. (TIP: the longer the soaking time the creamier your milk will taste.) 2. Drain & rinse the almonds until the water runs clear. 3. Place the soaked almonds in a high-powered blender or Thermomix with the water and optional sweetener/spices. 4. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes or until the nuts are completely blitzed and the mixture is creamy. 5. Place your nut milk bag over a large jug or bowl, and pour in the blended almonds. Squeeze almond milk through the nut milk bag until all liquid is separated from the pulp. 6. Discard the pulp or use in baking. Store your milk in the fridge for up to 5 days. Enjoy your fresh milk! Other Plant-Based Milk Options Cashew, Hazelnut or Brazil Nut Milk: use 1 cup of desired organic nut (soaked) in place of the almonds. Oat Milk: use 1 cup organic steel-cut oats (soaked) in place of the nuts. Rice Milk: use 1 cup cooked organic brown rice in place of the nuts. Quinoa Milk: use 1 cup cooked organic quinoa in place of the nuts. Pepita/Pumpkin Seed Milk: use 1 cup organic pepitas (soaked) in place of the nuts. Optional Sweetener/Additional Flavours: 1-2 tbsp organic maple syrup 1-2 tbsp organic raw honey 1-2 tbsp organic brown rice syrup 1/2 tsp organic cinnamon powder 2-3 tbsp organic cacao powder 1/2 tsp organic vanilla bean powder 2-3 organic Medjool dates

13.01.2022 "What is compounding?" Compounding in pharmacy is the preparation of a custom formulation of a medication to fit the unique need of a patient which cannot be met with commercially available products. This may be done for medical reasons, such as to be administered by a different route (e.g. tablet to liquid), to avoid a non-active ingredient the patient is allergic to, or to provide an exact dose that isn't commercially available. Compounding may also be done for optional reasons, such as preference of flavor or texture, or dietary restrictions. If you have questions about compounding, come and see our compounding pharmacists, Susie, Karyn, Kerrie and the team at Russell Street Pharmacy.

11.01.2022 PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE LIFTED - As of 1pm 1/9/20, NSW Health has given Snowy Valleys Council the all clear to lift the boil water notice. Test results ...have indicated water quality is within the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines limits and turbidity is under control. We have also provided this update to the local media outlets including Sounds of the Mountains. Please share this information with anyone you know who is not on Facebook. Friday 28 August 2020 : PRECAUTIONARY BOIL WATER NOTICE ADELONG, CLOVERDALE AND TUMUT Adelong, Cloverdale and Tumut residents are advised to boil their tap water used for drinking or to use bottled water until further notice. Problems with water treatment mean that the drinking water is potentially unsafe. Water used for drinking or food preparation should be brought to a rolling boil to make it safe. Kettles with automatic shut off switches can do this. Water should then be allowed to cool and stored in a clean container with a lid and refrigerated. Bottled water or cool boiled water should be used for drinking, washing uncooked food (e.g. salad vegetables and fruit), making ice, cleaning teeth, gargling and pet’s drinking water. Dishes should be washed in hot soapy water or in a dishwasher. Children should take bottled water or cool boiled water to school. Snowy Valleys Council is working with NSW Health to manage the water quality incident. This advice should be followed until further notice.
