25.01.2022 We must keep South Australians safe. Testing for COVID-19 when crossing the border into SA should be mandatory. Agree or disagree
25.01.2022 The Marshall Liberal Government has unleashed a barrage of cuts to the public transport network. These cuts will hurt the many thousands of South Australians who rely on our public transport. This is why South Australian Labor will continue to campaign against these changes.
24.01.2022 Thank you to all our volunteers who work tirelessly to help others.
24.01.2022 The Marshall Liberal Government has announced over 1000 bus stops will be cut from our public bus network. These cuts will have a serious impact on commuters, especially our senior citizens and people with a disability. A Peter Malinauskas South Australian Labor Government will support a well funded public transport network.
23.01.2022 Sat Sri Akal to all who are celebrating the 551st birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. I recently gave a speech in Parliament informing members of the origins of Guru Nanak and the important significance of this occasion.
22.01.2022 Times have changed. But this is one of the reasons why we will get through this together. The multicultural community, amongst many other groups, have banded t...ogether to support one another through this crisis. Know an amazing community group/business doing their part to help? 20.01.2022 Today’s vigil for Ann-Marie Smith was a moving tribute to a woman who deserved more than to have her life end in such a terrible way. We all need to do more to ensure those who are vulnerable in our street have watchful eyes over them. There must be more oversight on those with the responsibility of looking after members of our community who need special care. Ann-Marie Smith’s life mattered.
19.01.2022 Professor Spurrier has done an outstanding job leading SA through the health crisis, but Steven Marshall’s response to the economic crisis has been lacking. SA has the worst unemployment rate in Australia. More than 40,000 South Australians lost their job last month alone.
17.01.2022 The Privatisation of our trains is another Marshal Liberal Government broken promise
17.01.2022 A great response to my speech to the parliament informing members of the contribution of the Sihks during the 2 World Wars and the Gallipoli campaign.
17.01.2022 There is no doubt these recent months have been a challenging time for small businesses - which is why the South Australian Labor team have been out chatting to small business owners and staff and listening to their feedback. 16.01.2022 As a proud, lifelong supporter - I congratulate the Port Adelaide Football Club on reaching the incredible milestone of 150 years
15.01.2022 Happy Diwali to everyone who celebrates this special occasion. In a speech in the South Australian Parliament this week, I explained the significance of Diwali, the festival of light - the celebration of the prevalence of light, goodness, knowledge and wisdom over darkness, evil and ignorance. I also demonstrated the traditional greeting which is also COVID safe.
15.01.2022 Joined my Labor colleagues the Shadow Minister for Sport Katrine Hildyard, Blair Boyer, Dana Wortley, and Tony Zappia at the South Australia District Netball Association (SADNA) opening of the newly upgraded car park in the City of Tea Tree Gully.
15.01.2022 Happy New Year to all at Radio Italia Uno! You provide a great service to our South Australian Italian community.
15.01.2022 No thought was given to the impact these cuts to our public transport service by the Marshall Liberal Government would have on public transport users.Only a @ Peter Malinauskas Labor Government will maintain a well funded public transport service.
14.01.2022 Just received my flu vaccination.Hopefully vaccinations ,social distancing and the hygienic measures we are undertaking will result in a significant reduction in the number of flu infections this year.
14.01.2022 Happy Bandi Chhor Divas to our South Australian Sikh community and all those around the world who are celebrating this special occasion.

13.01.2022 Vision has emerged showing up to 24 ambulances were ramped at the Royal Adelaide Hospital - with an average ramp time of 1 hour and 48 minutes.
13.01.2022 The COVID-19 situation across NSW & VIC right now is very concerning - the last thing we want to see is the return of tough restrictions, which is why the decision by Police Commissioner Grant Stevens to keep our borders with NSW closed is the right one.
13.01.2022 Out in the community visiting small businesses I’ve been asked on a number of occasions how Labor leader Peter Malinauskas is going with the new baby. Caught up with him today to ask him personally - the smile says it all.
13.01.2022 It was a pleasure to inform Parliament of the significant contribution of Sihks during the 2 World Wars and the Gallipoli campaign.
12.01.2022 Today is International Nurses Day. Nurses & midwives devote their lives to caring for for all - in hospitals and our community. 12.01.2022 Light up the dawn ANZAC remembrance this morning ... They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them."
11.01.2022 Today 250 professional and experienced journalists left the ABC as a result of budget cuts by the Liberal Government. The anti-ABC funding cuts will have long term ramifications for the high quality news and current affairs programs we expect and enjoy from our national broadcaster. These cuts by the Liberal Government will also have a devastating impact on the quality of news and current affairs broadcasting in Regional Australia. Labor committed to ensuring our National Broadcaster is able to provide high quality news and current affairs services for all Australians to enjoy.
11.01.2022 It was great to catch up with members of the Unley sub branch at their recent meeting, they have been held by Zoom since February so meeting face to face while social distancing was a welcome change. There was plenty of political information and interesting discussions amongst the members.

09.01.2022 Today I had the pleasure to address a rally on the steps of Parliament House to support our farmers. Farmers all over the world are the salt of the Earth and they need our support. We must support the interest of farmers over the interest of Multi-National companies. Thank you very much to the organisers of this protest. 08.01.2022 A fantastic community campaign supported by Peter Malinauskas- Labor-Opposition Leader has stopped the closure of 1000 bus stops and SA service centres at Modbury, Prospect and Mitcham
08.01.2022 Labor Leader, Peter Malinauskas dropped into my office to thank me and my team for the thousands of telephone calls we made to seniors throughout COVID-19 self isolation. People spoke about the things they have been doing to keep occupied-gardening and cooking were top of the list. Also, how much many of them were missing spending time with their grandchildren.
07.01.2022 Common sense prevails! I am pleased that the Liberals will now support our legislation to impose jail terms for anyone unlawfully entering South Australia durin...g the COVID-19 pandemic. Our legislation will send a clear message to anyone else thinking about entering South Australia unlawfully that it will not be tolerated and you could end up in jail.
06.01.2022 Great work by our multicultural communities, your commitment to helping others will ensure we will all come out of this crisis together.
05.01.2022 The Code Blue Emergency Winter Response was rolled out under the former Labor Government together with its non-government partners to provide shelter and services to people sleeping rough in metropolitan Adelaide and regional centre across the State. Extreme cold weather, like what has been forecast tonight, can be dangerous for rough sleepers.
03.01.2022 Over the past 4 weeks with the assistance of my staff, 5000 telephone calls have been made to senior members in our community - checking in on them during this period of self-isolation. We have had some great conversations - happy, informative, funny, sad and I’ve even been given a number of recipes to try out. All are taking their responsibilities seriously and are looking forward to life returning to normal and giving their grandchildren and great grandchildren a hug. For some that live alone, we have been the only person they had spoken to that day and for others we have been able to provide assistance. SA coronavirus hotline number 1800 253 787.
03.01.2022 Happy Teej to all my Nepalese and Bhutanese friendsHappy Teej to all my Nepalese and Bhutanese friends
02.01.2022 South Australia is missing out on thousands of new jobs due to the Marshall Government’s failure to deliver its promised infrastructure projects. With 190,000 South Australians unemployed or underemployed we need to get big projects started that will create jobs for local tradies and support local businesses all over South Australia. Many of the State Governments promised infrastructure projects have been stalled or abandoned including GlobeLink - ABANDONED; Major Inner-City Sporting and Entertainment Facility - ABANDONED
02.01.2022 Many Australians have struggled during the Coronavirus pandemic, but let's not forget the struggles of international students and temporary visa holders. I informed the Parliament of their plight.
01.01.2022 Labor has just introduced new laws into Parliament that will allow the Community Visitor Scheme to visit people in the care of NGOs. This will better protect some of our most vulnerable South Australians. Ann Marie Smith was failed by a system which did not have adequate checks and balances in place.... We cannot allow that to happen again.
