24.01.2022 Just listening to the new CD of the concert we sang in a couple months ago at the Russian Community Centre!
22.01.2022 This is a rough test recording from a rehearsal session from last week. This is one of the pieces from our forth-coming CD. We hope you like hearing us blokes mucking around!
19.01.2022 Please note that our choir will be singing next at a Liturgy on the Gold Coast at 9am on the 24th of November. This liturgy is for the Russian Orthodox Mission of Sts Cyril and Methodius which currently has its services in the Serbian parish of the Dormition of the Theotokos at 114 Allied Drive Arundel. If coming from Brisbane, take the Gold Coast Highway exist (Helensvale South exit) - it's about 40 mins from Brisbane.
17.01.2022 The Male choir will be singing the Vigil Service on Saturday 29 December at 6pm at St Seraphim of Sarov's parish at Hawthorne St Woollongabba.
17.01.2022 After vigil to Saint Demetrius of Thessalonica earlier tonight with members of the Russian Orthodox Male Choir of Brisbane at the Holy Annunciation Orthodox Church
16.01.2022 The choir singing at QPAC in honour of the Bolshoi Ballet coming to Brisbane. Outdoor concert - so the sound quality isn't great, but you get the idea.
14.01.2022 Another recording from our rehearsal session - just because we are feeling a little generous today. Please do not hesitate to let us know what you think! This piece is often referred to as the Magnificat in the Western Churches. In the Orthodox Church it is sung during Matins Services outside of the Paschalion. The words alternate antiphonally between a description of the Virgin Mary's own humble words in accepting the the Archangel Gabriels message for her at the Annunciation, and the exalting/magnifying refrain "More Honourable than the Cherubim". NOTE: Please click the HD button to make it load faster if this is a problem for you (I don't know why but my video software is insisting on this resolution).
11.01.2022 Just a snippet of one of the tracks on the CD from the concert "From Russia With Love" which was held at the the Russian Arts Festival of Brisbane concert in 2012. The Russian Orthodox Male Choir of Brisbane was one of the groups performing on the day. This track is a small snippet from the Lord's Prayer, featuring tenor soloist Gregory Scanlan . Buy the CD, support our local community.
02.01.2022 Our first ever go at singing the Vigil service (predominantly) in English tonight at www.holyannunciation.net. We are very much looking forward to it!
